Moving down to DC soon and was wondering how the coverage is in the city.

Mid Atlantic = Verizon Wireless. You'll see when you get here. Very Happy

I used my friend's T-mobile phone when I visited DC and it seemed to get good reception except for in the Metro. While I have heard from other friends that Verizon also has good coverage in DC and even in the Metro, T-mobile has more minutes for cheaper than Verizon, which means a lot to me for someone right out of college.

Of course, when I'm out of the DC Metro area, I might end up wishing I had gone with Verizon Smile I guess you get what you pay for.

I had Verizon and moved to T-Mobile.. I have been VERY happy during the first month. Verizon can't seem to bill me correctly so I thought I would try someone new. T-Mobile's service has been outstanding. I have not had one dropped call (can't say that about Verizon). And I really like the fact that I can easily change phones based on my mood for that day.

I will admit I have not been everywhere just yet but the major areas in DC seem to be covered (Capital Hill.. Dupont.. etc..) Except the Metro in the underground sections which is only covered by Verizon (and Sprint but you will be roaming) The entire 66/267 Dulles route works without a hitch.

Good luck.. And don't drop T-Mobile because of the perception that Verizon is bette...

I'm mostly happy with T-Mobile in DC. The call quality is excellent and Customer Service is good. But I am having more and more system busies in the evenings after 9 when everyone is trying to use their unlimeted nighttime minutes.

coverage with tmobile is excellent although i use nextel because tmobile does not work in the mountanous areas, if your going to stay local or in a major city then your fine the service is excellent and if you really do need a phone then respond or write me an email because i work for them and i can work a deal for you.
