I live in Michigan and am a current Tmobile customer on a family plan, 3 lines and 2K mins.

On the Radio (and just noticed a billboard on the way home) MetroPCS is offering cellphone plans for $45 a month unlimited talk time. No nights/weekends/premium hours.

How (will) Tmobile respond?
They used to have the best plans but MetroPCS just pulled a fast one. Unless im reading the offer wrong.

Comments please.

That's not a new thing from Metro PCS. I lived in Atlanta, GA from 2002-2004 and they offered that just for $30 instead of $40. That plan from Metro PCS only is in affect if you are calling within that city you signed up in. If you go to another city within the same state it's not valid.

Metro PCS only services a handful of markets. They have unlimited plans starting at $30. In fact, they've had that for a long time. There really is no ROAMing with METRO PCS. The phone won't even work. The only ROAMing they have is if you pay extra and only where Metro PCS exists.

Exactly. When I worked for SprintPCS, I had a customer ask how the company expected to compete with some local carrier (forgot which) offering unlim min. National carriers compete by offering roaming, long distance, and a lot more places to use your phone. Also, if MetroPCS (not avail where I live, so I don't know) is anything like Cricket, then the service is unreliable b/c they don't own their own towers. They...

Well T-mobile will not do any thing in this matter and they don’t have too, they offer premium service to the end user, if you are on a family plan and you are saving $40.00 in a month with T-mobile then why would you want to switch, booth cricket and metro pcs have the worse customer service there is, they treat their customers like dirt, their phones are all pcs based and you have to put up with the phone heating up in your hand, life span of phones is about 4 to 5 months because of the abuse do to the lack of reception in the area, you wont have nation wide service and roaming, you cant take your sim from one phone to another, you wont get a chance to upgrade your phone every 12 months, after all its what you make of it, number of custom...

I do agree Tmobile has great customer service. Much better than AT&T's cust svc. And when they became Cingular it was STILL horrible.

One of my girlfriends had Cing and dropped them for Tmob as soon as her contract expired due to their piss poor customer service.

And another thing that pissed me off about AT&T/Cing was that I had ATT and she had Cing. We were being charged for calling each other after it was advertised on national television that we could call each other for free.
We finally had to call customer svc and fart around with them because we had each gone over our plan minutes due to us being charged airtime for talking to each other.
We go to Tmob and customer svc was actually helpful RIGHT AWAY.

But I digress.
