Did you feel like T-Mobile is stolen from YOU?

😡
I recently purchased an upgrade handset from T-Mobile web site. The shipping package arrived with the “IF SEAL IS BROKEN CHECK CONTENTS BEFORE ACCEPTING” label out side of the shipping package box. This is great the seal isn’t broken. I open the shipping box, found a factory box. Wow! Great added a layer of protection. There another plastic seal label “IMPORTANT …” but that seal is broken. Check the contents inside the factory packaged box compare to the contents label outside of the factory box.

Although I do not agree that one should pay for return shipping, the trauma you have caused for yourself was more of a cost. I would say the cost of shipping if a good price for a lesson in what not to do... but you took it too far by getting so upset as to cause yourself more stress by arguing and looking for legal notices.

Well let me assure you if T-mobile thought you needed a sim card they would have send you one, upgrade department must have been out of that phone, they shipped you a phone from activation department, upgrade phones don’t come with sim they are packaged with out Sims, or would you have waited for another 2 weeks to get the right sealed box. And by the way don’t say stolen. Not the right word.

If that is exactly what happened, and that is all sides of the story... Then I'd say T-Mobile got stolen from you.

The real question here: Is that all sides of the story?

Hmm... pay $20 for a sim, or pay more and feel like justice has been served (even though it really hasn't)? The fact is, when doing an upgrade, you use your old sim. If you had lost your phone or it got stolen, then you get the whole package (literally and figuratively speaking).

Doesn't the upgrade phone cost the same as a new activation phone. Why shouldn't you get the sim to keep as a spare. You're certainly paying for it in the package.

Unless you are going to use the SIM within 60 days, it's worthless. SIM cards are expired after 60 days and cannot be reactivated.

Sim cards have to be activated with Cust. Care. I have sim cards sitting in my cabinets that are definitely inactive for longer then 60 days and i can still activate them. There is no reason why you would need the sim card unless you lost yours. As far as paying 20$ for a new sim. I charge people who have a bad attitude. If you're nice to me I don't charge.

ok first off...ITS A SIM CARD!! you already have one. ALL reps remove the sim card from the box on an upgrade. On the store level or through the online or over the phone sales depts. If you want a new one that badly, come into the store and they will replace one for you at no charge im sure...you blew this way out of proportion. You actually returned the phone because they took out the SIM? Come on...you dont think thats a little ridiculous?

I agree, if you buy the phone you should get all contents of the box. I know I used to work for an indirect that would remove the sim card if sale was an upgrade then turn around and sell it for $30 and thats all profit. I didn't agree with their practices then and I don't agree with it now. How would you like it if you bought a new car and the dealer said since you already have a stereo i am going to keep this one and sell it to someone else. Thats the same principle here and I don't think people should let dealers or corporate get away with it, considering tmobile screws there existing customers on upgrade prices anyway.

That’s not how it works, sim is not part of upgrades, and the customer doesn’t pay an activation fee or standard upgrade fee, and T-mobile puts the sim in the box for new activation, lost damage phones and Sims.

You cant compare a SIM to a car stereo... its not like you can plug a stereo in every car you get and its not like the stereo stores any previous information to use with your new car.... If you are UPGRADING, then you are simply swapping your handset for a better one... all the information is stored on the SIM card to make these transitions easier...one of the benefits of SIM cards is their portability.... besides, you dont pay an activation fee nor a standard upgrade fee when you upgrade handsets.... its logical that you would need a new SIM card on a new service but why would they give you a SIM card for an upgrade... you're not paying full retail for the phone anyway...

Its an upgrade!!.. you dont get a SIM card on upgrades regardless of what the label may say... if you are upgrading, then you should already have a phone with a SIM card to begin with... you are simply upgrading handsets... otherwise its not an upgrade, its a new service...

Are you being serious?! Who freaking cares?! Sim cards are free in retail stores, no matter what customer care says. If some dirty indirect dealer charges for a SIM card, that's a different story. The radio analogy is absurd! What good is an inactive SIM anyway. A better analogy would be if there was some broken piece of worthless crap stereo in the trunk, and the car dealer offered to throw it away for you. People like Willy are the reason that companies have to charge for stupid things like shipping in the first place. People like Willy are the reason that upgrade prices are high, due to high return cost. I can't believe anyone even agrees with this guy. I have no idea how many sim cards I have given away for people who want an up...

Hey you better watch what are you saying, it didn’t sound right when you say some dirty indirect, if you don’t know why we charge for the Sims then you cant say that, our cost on the dam things are about, $ 22.00 to $25.00 each, From T-mobile and respective masters, I hope I made my self clear on that, nothing is free, but guess what we have the greatest customer care in us/world for the past 6 years way before JD said so.

the post said that he purchased an upgrade handset it didn't say that he got a free upgrade or that it was a discount and i don't agree that if you buy something that they should have the right to open the box and take out the sim is all. if it was bought at a discounted price then maybe you have a point, but i know places that take the sims out of the box on upgrades and sell them because as the other person stated indirect dealers have to pay over $20 for them.

ok but he didnt pay full retail for the phone... when you upgrade an existing phone on existing service you pay a discounted price and not full retail as long as you renew the contract for a certain amount of time... The only time you pay full price for an upgrade is if you choose not to extend the contract or if you have too many months left on the existing contract...

The sim cards do not come free with the phone. T-mobile the company pays to have a box made to hold the phones with their logos on it and they also pay to have sim cards made with their logo and placed in the boxes should it be a new activation. Why should you get a sim card for free on a upgrade when t-mobile paid to have sim cards produced for customers on new activations which factors in sim cost by the way. I know why you want the sim card though, you want to sell it on the internet for 20 bucks to make a little return profit, I too have gotten a sim card on accident for free with an upgrade and sold it on ebay. What I do like is that I had a 32k sim card and had it replaced with a new 64k sim free of charge, no questions asked.

I know I'm a bit delayed in reading and replying to this, but let's throw a little common sense into the mix here. I know some of you have already, but I feel the need throw my own brand in the mix.

Did you read your post before sending it out to the world? You "purchased an upgrade handset"!! Common sense, which I know is a difficult thing to come by in this world, would dictate that if you're purchasing an upgrade that you'd already have service and the SIM card wouldn't be there to begin with!!! Did you not have service and still buy an "upgrade handset"? And if you didn't have service, why would you buy an upgrade handset?

Listen, I'm sorry to sound harsh here, but a little thought here would go a long way. I'll give you th...

dude, are you serious? you paid money for an upgrade, not for a new SIM card that you can exploit and illegally sell to someone...you must realize that any time an upgrade is processed in a t-mobile store you don't get the SIM card, to put it bluntly, no one has been stolen from...the only people who should feel stolen from is T-mobile for people making stupid retarded comments like this...

Hi, you're the biggest Tool Bag I think I've ever seen post on this website.

First of all, can you speak english?

"DID you feel like T-Mobile IS stolen from YOU?"

That is simply hilarious.

Second,

It was said once, upgrade phones are normally packaged without a SIM card. If there was a shortage of whatever phone you ordered (sounds like a V360) that may have resulted in you receiving a phone packaged for brand new activations.

Was anything wrong with the phone? What would you do with a new SIM card? I guess you could put it in your phone and say "Sweet my phone doesn't have service now," You, being the Tool you are may have actually done just that.

Like others have said, think before you act. This is one of those sto...

What is wrong with the dumb consumers these days. Why in the world would T-Mobile send you a new sim card when you already have one???? Duh think about it. Also to once you get the new one you have to have it changed within the system. Which you then could have a delay in your service which Im sure you would complain about that! Why don't you people who think you know it all just get off your gold plated ass and think of it from a company perspective. We shouldn't have to hold your hand and walk you through everything. Your a big boy now, or by the sounds of it a big baby now.

I do find that odd as my phone was shipped to me with my sim card...even though it was not needed. I still have it sitting on my desk.
Also, even though customer service says so...a lot of dealers do not card for sim cards.

Re: Did you feel like T-Mobile is stolen from YOU? 🤣

Second, i also was shipped a phone (replacement) with a new sim card. I'm just waiting for a customer to come in asking for a sim card to sell it to them. 😁

Let see, you bought an upgrade phone? You expected a SIM card with the phone? The SIM card is useless anyways unless you activate it with a new number which will cause the same $20.

Probably already got a lower priced phone in the first place. Actually the cheapest way of getting a new phone cheap is to activate a new line number and end the previous contract which is usually after a year. But of course they don't want you to do that and will offer you a deal.
