Now that T-Mobile brought back thier 1500 Get More plan at 39.99 a month, I think they will add more numbers again. I do feel that this plan helped them be so successful with 2005 4th Quarter.

It shouldn't affect T-Mobile any more than it will affect cingular since both companies had to recall phones. I wouldn't expect it to affect it at all really.

well for one its totally irrevelant, it does not matter how many cancel or how many sign on, what matters is do you be honest with your customers ( tmobile ) or do you lie to them ( cingular ) ...thats it

I don't know, maybe 500,000 would be a safe guess. I hope it is more though.

I don't think the RAZR problem will affect T-Mobile any differently than Cingular.

500,000 net adds? wow you are very conservative huh?

It was just a guess. If Cingular keeps doing what it is doing, then T-Mobile will add 2.5 million new subscribers, instead of 500,000.

Pardon my ignorance if I have missed something, but what about Cingular is so bad? It would seem to me that Cingular, Verizon, and T-Mobile are all somewhat equal in that none of them is significantly better or worse than the otehr two (which is probably in the acceptable but not excellent range).

The difference is in the capabilities of their network... At this point, T-Mobile is behind when it comes to network enhancements... Hopefully they can win when the FCC auctions out new spectrum this June... At that point they plan on investing a lot of dough in upgrading...

well, cingular isnt that great when it comes to customer service, complaints and other things..

tmobile cingular and verizon are not somewhat equal...

1.verizon is the best
2.cingular is 2nd
3.and tmobile is 3rd..

(out of these guys)

1. verizon has everything a carrier needs and wants. (cept for data and prepaid)

2. not great with customer care, complaints etc..

3. lacking of a 3g network and spectrum, not a great data network. not doing so good with qt net adds.

so these guys are not on the same level plane- not even close.

3%?! Wow. Why do you think it's going to be so high?
...

Mar 29, 2006, 9:55 PM
well, i think it is pretty close to last year, but remember that churn 3% includes post pay and prepaid. i think without prepaid it would be, around 2.2-2.4%, but the net adds will be a lot less.

WHEN WILL T-MOBILE GO 3G??? IF THEY CAN ROLLOUT 3G BEFORE SOME OF THE REST OF THE BIG GUYS THAT'D BE A GOOD ADVANTAGE....
...
nextel18

Mar 30, 2006, 2:19 PM
they cant roll out 3g until they win some 3g spectrum during the june of 2006 auction. i think if successful bidding, Tmobile usa will probably have umts/hsdpa or td-cdma by 2007 or 2008.

why do you think they will have an advantage?
...

Mar 30, 2006, 2:26 PM
Because they already have the upper-hand when it comes to affordable price plans and giving you a gagillion mins for your money... add a state-of-the-art network and you have a company with a bright future...

interesting;

so what do you think that Tmobile USA will charge for the data usage? (pc-card)

what about content and products such as TV and other things that can be able to use with this 3g data speeds?

why would a customer pick T-mobile USA when/if they will come out with some 3g data network instead of the bigger guys that already are starting to launch it and will be completed by 2008?

What will entice people to switch to Tmobile usa?

I have a simple answer to your question but keep in mind that this is just my theory:

because you "GET MORE" at T-Mobile.... lol...

I wouldnt be able to give you a ballpark figure on what their rates would be for 3g services cuz I simply have no idea...but T-Mo has a reputation for being very competetive...
...
nextel18

Mar 30, 2006, 2:48 PM
so what content and data products that will entice consumers to get Tmobile instead of the likes of Sprint or Verizon especially when it comes to data speeds and content. (nothing beats sprint with content)

well done though.
...

Mar 30, 2006, 2:52 PM
So even with the 3g upgrades to the network T-Mo still wouldnt compete with Spring as far as data transfer speeds????
...
nextel18

Mar 30, 2006, 2:57 PM
in my view; i dont think so. just becuase sprint has always been good with data, content, very good with coverage, extremly better with spectrum usage, and with major deals. (like the recent ones with the cable companies)

by then, sprint will have a 4g network..

i think Tmo can compete against verizon's data and cingular's.

remember, tmobile needs to get a lot of 3g spectrum to have a chance to compete against sprint. (which takes $billions to spend and from 1-2 years to clear and deploy the network)

it is difficult to state if they have a chance becuase they are so far behind, but they are doing pretty well when it comes to quarterly adds. (although its not that great against the other guys)
