Is there going to be a special data plan for the MDA, like how they do the Sidekick plan? I don't mean that $29.99 data plan with Hotspot. I mean something cheaper.

Nope, the bundled Internet add on for 29.99 is the way it is--and why would you NOT want HotSpot if you're carrying a PDA with WiFi?

Because not everyone is in the vacinity of a T-mobile HotSpot or has access to freenets, only uses corporate/university wifi networks, uses the phone primarily while traveling (but not necessarily in a HotSpot area; i.e. hotel, client site, etc.).

If people could get the unlimited internet plan without the hotspots for less money, I'm sure more plans would be sold. Or at least T-mobile should offer it and see if it's what their customers want. If it doesn't sell well, remove it. 😛 But I guess T-mobile makes more off the combo plan so it probably won't happen. A...

Yeah, that's exactly what it is. I can't tell you how many people hate the 29.99 plan's guts, but T-Mobile wants to be the "Absolute revenue growth leader" so that's how it's going to be.

I'd average it out to say that for every person who signs up for the 29.99 plan, there are at least two others who think it's too expensive and won't get it.

Of course, selling, say, 100,000 plans at 29.99 makes less money than, say, 300,000 plans at 19.99, but I'm not the one responsible for those decisions . . .

Because not everyone wants to sit in a starbucks and use the internet. If they had in in major cities as a regular, it would be worth it. They could let us use it instead of EDGE. Plus, I have internet at home, I don't want to pay $10.00 more a month just for a service I won't use.

Then don't get it? It's that simple. Just because YOU don't use WiFi doesn't mean other people don't. You'd be surprised at the amount of 29.99 internet feature I sell.

Then what are you supposed to data if there isn't an EDGE only plan offered?
