T-Mobile and Motorola update

JDigital

Well, I was at the V600 launch party a couple the night before last, and I must say I'm a little more excited than I was before about the new Motorolas. The reps from Motorola seem to think that the previous bugs have been pretty well worked out for the T-Mobile release. Apparently T-Mobile requested a final software check on the handsets, and everyone hopes they will be launching in a week or two. I found it very interesting that the Motorola people basically admitted that Motorola had f'ed up the last couple years, but they claim that everything is back on track. The MOST exciting thing about the whole evening was the "sneak peek" of handsets they claim are almost definitely going to be released by T-Mobile this summer/fall. There are...

Sounds like a blast. I hope the bugs are fixed because at my store, we get more returns/exchanges on V300s than any other phone. But we shall see!

Interestingly enough, they were talking about that too. Apparently there is now a new software version coming out with the V300. Also, they are taking the holster out of the box so you can sell people more accessories. 😈

For some reason, our store doesn't have ANYTHING for Motorola except an earpiece 🙄

Motorola phones never really bonered me out anyway, blah. The Samsung phones will OWN ALL. 😈

I've got a new v300 bug for you, Starr. A work associate of mine has the 300 and recently we noticed some liquid building up around the hinge of the flip mechanism. It turns out it's some kind of lubricant. LOL. I don't know about you but I think it's another reason for me never to buy a Motorola again. It leaks lubricant people!!! Bwahahahahaah!

I guess this is Motorola's response to complaints from users that they were getting it without a kiss or KY... đŸ˜ŗ

LOL Must be nice.

Our Samsung rep visited us today. He said the R225 will be disappearing very soon and it will be replaced with an identical phone just with a color display, model C225 (something like that). Then price drops down the Samsung line for the big arrival of the D415. He said the next time he comes by, he should have a working one. Schweeet!

I just heard about that new R225 today also, but I think it's called an R225c. I hope it has a different interface than the old one. That thing is not user friendly. Anyway, I'm hearing late July/August for the D415 and then September/October for the P735. I had hoped they'd both be out sooner. The E715 needs a price drop, or a rebate, or both. It's a great phone, but I just don't sell a whole lot of them.

We sell more E105s than E715s. Customers complain about the $300 dollar price with no rebate. Kinda sucks. But there will be a price drop and/or rebate with the E715. He said the same thing about the P735, early fall pending approval/testing.

He did say the interface will have a lot significant improvements. We should be getting live demos for both the C225 (I'm 95% sure now that's the model #) and the D415 when he comes back in. I'm eager to see both. I could care less about the V600 at this point lol

I don't know, the V600 is pretty slick... have you ever played with one? To tell you the truth, I'm willing to put up with a couple of glitchy sotftware issues on an otherwise great phone. I even had a V300 for a couple of months, and although it shut itself off a couple of times for no reason, I generally liked it quite well.

Personally, I liked it when my friend's v300 leaked lubricant out of the hinges of the flip mechanism. LOL. That still gets me.

☚ī¸ Sorry dude. The A840 is not compatible w/ any GSM carrier in the US. Here we only have the 850 MHZ band (Cingular, AT&T), and 1900 MHZ band (T-Mobile, AT&T, and Cingular). That phone is not intended for any GSM carrier in the US. Most likely, Verizon, maybe even Sprint. 😡
