Combine 2 phones on a family plan
I want to combine 2 phones on 1 family plan. I was told that if the numbers were based in different states, this is not possible. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks.

I used to be a rep with cingular that was true. If the two lines were in different markets it could not be done because they had to be seperate accounts. I'm not sure if it's the same with t-mobile but I wouldn't be surprised.

One way you may be able to do this is get a family plan and send the phone to the other person with the phone number. These days so many people have cell phones it doesn't matter if the number is long distance, most of the time its included. And free m2m. Just a thought.

odd.. I had a customer ask me the same thing yesterday.. Unfortunately if the numbers ARE in different submarkets the family time plans will be unavailable.. As i write this i am trying to think of some sort of loophole.. ....err..err.. nope. none in sight.. sorry mate.. gonna have to keep it single for now. 😕

I have a similar situation where my area code and my spouse's area code are in different markets (within the same state). I was told that one number would have to be moved to same area code as the other so that we could get the shared minute plan. From several different reps I heard various reasons including long distance charges and tax implications.
After a couple months of trying, I finally got a rep to make the change. I had the rep move my spouse's number moved to my account and then I had them move both numbers to a shared plan. They never raised an eye brow. I guess that I got lucky.

lucky is right..maybe someday.. if the customer is really NICE.. i might do something nice back.. 😁

😁
Now we can use our shared plan to call each other "long distance".

you are ok as long as the numbers fall under the same taxation laws like i live in nevada and have 2 numbers from Mn where the tax is different I wantted to get a 3rd number that was local to nevada but couldn't because the accountants at t-mobile cant be bothered to figure out how to tax that I guess. even thought on the bill every lines comes seperat even the famly talk plans.
