I am thinking about upgrading to a new/better phone within the next 2-3months and T-Mobile hasn't released any new phones and probably won't within that time frame. I know a good amount of authorized dealers in NYC that sell very high-end imported GSM phones that should work with T-Mobile but does anyone have a few suggetions or tried out any good high-phones except Motorolas I am looking for a real phone not a play one. Let me know!
Thanks!

You will see a big change in our line up in the time frame you have. Samsung has BIG plans. I am talking about bluetooth and speakerphone. Very awsome! Not to mention Nokia clamshell debut. Imported phones are great but many times it is hard to get support for phones that are not native to US markets. I think it is cool to have a rare phone but for the cost and if something happends factor it is a tough decision. Also remember buyer beware. If you do look into imports know what you are getting. Many times phones lack tests that carriers and government agancies require for a phone to be sold in the US. I hope I helped a little.

Thanks! I guess from what you said . . . let me wait around a little bit to see what T-Mobile will pop-up with. Do you have detailed information on those Samsungs & Nokias you're talking about?

The Samsung rep I have talked to said all he could tell me is that a couple of them were on Phonescoop. I know one is like the D500 a slider type. I will get more information on models when I talk to my friend in engineering on Monday. "Stay tuned" Sorry for the suspence.
This is a really ugly point for T-Mobile's line up. A company never wants to set on old inventory and planned for a smooth transition from out with the old in with the new. For some reason they didn't plan on delayed launches that always take place. Be patient we will all be impressed.

Since the Motorola V635 isn't officially released in the US, is it a good idea to buy that phone? I found it for $349, free shipping. I heard Cingular rejected that phone due the launch price similar to teh V3 price now. Oh, I am a T-Mobile customer.

We know Motorola's reputation with quality control. No offence to Motorola. I love them I have the A630 now but this concern is a fact. This phone may never have been tested on our network. You always need to ask yourself. What if it is defective? What if I have problems with reception?
...
There really isn't any other phone that I like. Plus, everybody is saying that the V635 is really good, and better than the V600/V620 thats currently out. I am so confused. I don't know what to do. I am getting tired of my Samsung E715 since I had it for 2 years already. I wish I could go to a store and test the V635 out.

Welcome to the wireless industy. Sorry I know how you feel and it is difficult.
...
Thanks for your reply.
...
Look at the e720. It is like the 715, but with a massive feature list.
...
I bet that phone is too much money.

I bet that phone is too much money. I haven't heard any reviews on that phone.
...
I have read on Howardforums.com that people who bought the V635 say it works great, and has excellent reception, its the best upgrade phone since the V600/V300 problems started.
...
I think im going to pick up a V635 on ebay for $350 wit shipping...i cant bother to wait around for t-mo to release phones...besides i doubt any of them will compare to the V635...and it has edge so when t-mo starts that up u will be ahead of the game...AND it is quadband so u will be able to roam w/ it if t-mobile begins purchasing 850 roaming agreements..so this phone will not have to be replaced any time soon if one buys it.
ps...love the color screen on the outside, megapixel camera, bluetooth and memory card slot..all PLUSES!
also if ur concerned w/ defects...it comes w/ a motorola 1 yr warrenty...i used my warrently for my old phone and motorola replaced it, NO PROBLEM!
...
Was the phone that you have an UNLOCKED/UNBRANDED phone? When I call they give me different answers about the warranty and about the whole thing about they strongly recommend me to buy a phone released for the US, since they might not have the parts and things to fix the V635 since its not released for the US yet, if at all.
...
yes it was unlocked/unbranded although it was released in the Us, and from what i know the V635 is not yet released in the Us....maybe that was the issue
...
Yeah, they said since the V635 is not released I might have a problem with the warranty. I hate that the company makes the phone, but if its not released in that country, I will not have a warranty.
...
Ok. Thanks! Keep us up to date!
...
I actually saw a D500 today, it is a wonderful phone but the main problem is with all the nice features like bluetooth it still does not have voice dial! I hope that you will say in the near future that some of these new phones from Samsung will correct that problem ๐
...
Thatโs comforting news to a point, but what about Motorola products? Details?
