Does tmob block internet
on downloaded applications? i have a nokia 5310 unlocked and have downloaded the gmail app but it doesn't have access to the net. is there a setting i can change? and i cant use opera mini either, even though there is a version that works on the phone. is it just tmob that sucks and i have to use death star?

Nope, T-Mobile does not block internet. It solely depends on the phone. For instance, I had a Samsung T439, and my account has T-Zones/Web2Go, and that phone had VERY limited internet access.
I tried my SIM card in a Nokia 7510, the internet on that phone was much better, but still not that great.
Then I moved along to the Sony Ericsson TM506. That phone gets full blown internet, pictures and all, plus the ability to download files. And I use Opera Mini and it works fine.
So no, it's not T-Mobile... it's just the phone's limitations.
Oh yeah, do you actually PAY for the internet on your phone, like the $5.99 or $9.99 Tzones?
'Cause if not, there's your sign...

i have the monthly plan, but acording to nokia the phone will use opera mini and flash lite, which would be awesome. i guess ill just have to call tmobile and nokia and get the runaround until somebody figures it out.

this is not the first phone that this has happened on. gmail app that my old tmobile phone could use, got the same message "application access not allowed", the app wasnt allowed access to the net.

Tmo doesn't block but you may need to get the settings set to your phone. If its an "unlocked" phone that sounds like a non branded to me.. Which means you may need to get the internet settings set to the phone to get access to something.. But Srs its really the phone. Sony's are amazing for the price.. I refer EVERYONE that wants a phone first device to a sony tm506.. its hot and is loaded.

because branding blocks java access
you have to de-brand the phone
