Hi,
I work for at&t so I figured I would ask those who would know instead of trying to figure it out and possible messing something up.
I have a friend who recently upgraded to a G-1. In the last couple of weeks he has found that his email doesn't always come onto his phone and he hasn't been receiving any of the mms messages that I sent to him. I don't know if it is any mms or just from me. I know nothing about this phone so I don't know if it has to have mms sent as an email (like the iPhone) or if his phone just has problems.
Is this a common issue on the phone or does he just have bad phone luck? He has both messaging and internet on his account, I just don't know what would cause these problems.

Any help or suggestions are appreci...

G1 does MMS and email. So if he is sending to you on your iphone it would need to be email because your phone doesn't support mms. Have him create and send a mms to himself and also a picture in a email to himself. Thats a good way to test it. Have him grab a land line or a different than his G1 phone call into to customer service. He may need to be removed from the network and added back on. I haven't heard of these problems with the G1 so it may be easily fixable or worst case a exchange.

thanks. I will pass that on to him. I dont use and iPhone, I use a blackberry curve on at&t. But basically my "lack of knowledge answer" was probably the right one. the G1 has a one year warranty through Tmobile, right? i am pretty sure he is out of his 30 day (or however long) exchange period. I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do in the settings or message settings to help him fix it.

Thanks again.

Np. 14 days other than CA for the buyer's remorse. Every phone TMO sells has a one yr warranty. I think that's every carrier if I'm not mistaken.

Looks like Fleance2k5 answered most of your questions, but what email is he using? If he's talking about push email, only his gmail will be pushed. He can have up to 5 other email accounts, but they will be pull instead. This is common thing I run into where it wasn't explained to the buyer properly. Only Blackberries are push for all email. WinMo and all other phones do not have push across the board, it depends upon the email provider.
