i left sprint/nextel (which had awesome cell service, but really bad customer service) and went to t-mobile (which has awesome customer service, but really bad cell service).
which brings up my question... would you rather have good customer service or cell service.

**here is my rant!
personally, i don't care if i have to wait until i go to work to be able to check my messages, just as long as when i have a problem i know it's going to be corrected.
i have had problem after problem with sprint service. i was promised a free instinct (which was clearly notated on my account), but i had to FIGHT sprint in order to recieve 200.00 off the retail price of the phone. this all comes after some lady placed the order for the full retial price o...

I agree with you that customer service is very important, but you shouldn't have to sacrifice good coverage to recieve it.

You should get a Hot-Spot enable phone and add the @ Home router to your service package that way you can get VOIP when you are in your house!

I know the Blackberry Curve and the Samsung Katalyst are @ home enabled and there are plenty more.

Talk to your local T-mobile rep, they will hook you up!

As you mentioned TMO customer service is second to none. But you should also receive quality cell service as well.

I changed from VZW to TMO and noticed a difference in quality and feel this is due to the technology.

But contact customer care and see what they can do for you.

GSM tends to have more digital static or cuting in and out compaired to CDMA. However it all depends on the area. I noticed the diffrence when I swiched from Vodafone Japan (WCDMA) to Vodafone UK with is mostly GSM and some WCDMA. At least WCDMA does not buzz your speakers like GSM.

i don't want to sound like on of those customers that have a problem with everything. i work for sprint (as a customer service specialist, go figure) and don't want to be one of those customers that i hate.
besides... what could they really do for me?

I've had no problems with ATT and VZW customer service as well as TMO.
Sprint on the other hand seems like the people themselves mean well but whatever system there using won't let them help you in a timely manner. And from what I've seen there's allot of back door fixes that the Sprint CS agents will do just to get you the customer from point A to point B. Witch they shouldn't have to do.
It should just work!
Plus in my recent experience, God help you if you want to change phones more than once.

i've had sprint for a long time now. and customer service has improved. im realized that people i get from florida are way nicer CSR then the ones from TX or non us. i've had verizon before i signed up with that first month free advertisement and i was also paying 20 a month for "unlimited txt" they failed to let me know that it was unlimted IN text only vrzn to vrzn txt. plus when i went to pay my bill at the end of the month they refused to take my payment because it wasn't due till the following month. i informed i needed to be out of the country and wouldn't be able to and the complete refused.

😁 🙂
as long as i get cool phones and great network service im good. 😁
