The so called google phone will be released first week of Oct. It will be called the HTC Dream.

Also, coming is the Samsung Tocco and the BB Bold. PLUS, a TMO exculsive is the formerly known as BB Kickstart this is the one that looks like the Pearl but its a clam shell ... BBs first clam shell phone.

And 3G will be rolled out in 19 more cities by year end 😁

TMO finally on a roll.

The Javelin will be released before the Bold, assuming we even get the Bold. My BB rep says that we may be getting a version of the Bold in Q1 of 2009, but they have to redesign it to support our 3G frequencies. Maybe you're thinking of the Javelin.

The Dream is also iffy for the first week in October. I've heard several different things, but it looks like Google/T-Mobile will be making some sort of announcement (probably about the Dream) on September 23.

AT&T has a 90 day exclusive on the Bold. AT&T still hasn't released the phone which makes the expectation by the end of the year pretty sketchy.

I played with the Dream a few days ago for like 3 minutes. It is gonna be amazing but then again I like the T919 too. I wish so much I could have caught a pic of the actual HTC Dream because it is a little different looking but not by much. HTC and TMO both had security around it lol. Anyway, also coming soon Moto ACTV 10-1 and Samsung T109 10-5.

Does the G1 or Dream the same device that has been floating around online with that chin that is shown in the FCC docs?

Not as tilted as it looks in the FCC docs. It really isn't noticable. But it does have a "chin" area and the keyboard slides up It was really comfortable to hold but a tad heavy ... though compared to the Env or Iphone I guess the weight is about the same.

It will be shown on Sept 23rd and released a week later according tot he plans I have seen.

Thanks for the info rtx. I cannot wait for the G1. I downloaded the Android 0.9 SDK, and as a WinMo user am really impressed by it. The only thing that will really hold me back are the conditions that T-Mobile will be putting together in terms if the pricing of the phone, their 3G data rates, and whether or not we'll have to sign 2 year contracts.

I think the Samsung 919 looks nice. The 5MP camera is going to be sweet. The media player and customization of Android really have me leaning towards the Dream though. I can't wait for that thing to come out. What was your overall reaction to the Dream?

I think it will be a huge seller ... not as many units as the iphone but easily 250,000 plus. The problem TMO will have is when the android o/s starts showing up on other phones at other carriers they will lose sales, but from my understanding that won't be for about 6 months.

In the really brief time I touched the phone it was awesome. But I need far more time with it because like you I also like the features on the T919 especially the camera.

I can get both at a huge discount but I'm not really into having more than one phone at a time.

We will at least see a big demo of the Dream on the 23rd though. My insight says it will go on sale the following week.

T-Mobile has the iPhone in Germany. That doesn't mean we'll ever see it in the US.
