The signs in the store said FREE with 2 year contract for 3 particular phones I looked at.
Sales guy #1 knew which plan I wanted, told me those 3 phones would be free, but since he didn't know how to "port" my home phone, I decided to return.
The next day, sales guy #2, very nicely goes through the different phones with me and helps me choose one. Again, (knowing which plan I had chosen!), he tells me it will be FREE (not counting taxes). He fills out the rebate form for me and tells me to send it in and my phone is free.

I'm a happy customer for my 30 day trial period. A WEEK after that 30 day window for me to cancel/make changes -- I get a notice saying they will not be paying me the rebate. They claim the plan I chose didn't count.

I wouldn't give a rats ass if they changed the sign. Have the manager issue a credit to your account in the amount of the rebate.

T-Mobile's rebates are actually not processed by them, but by a company called Young America. all rebates go to them for processing. The letter you recieved about not having the right rate plan doesn't sound right to me. the most common reason people get denied rebates is because the wrong form is submitted.

Young america might have just messed up on it. you can call the rebate center and have them look it up for you and then have them resubmit it for you.

What kind of phone did you get? how much do you pay for you minutes? did you active new service

The plan is irrelevant with all of the rebates. The rebates for smartphones (blackberries or Windows Mobile devices) require some sort of data add-on (either email or internet). If you bought a Blackberry or Windows Mobile device without adding some sort of data, then you shouldn't get the rebate back. Under any other circumstance, you should unless you messed up the rebate somehow (like sending in a copy of the UPC instead of the original).

acually, if you are on a basic plan (29.99 getmore basic for example) you are not eligible for the rebates. it actually states that on the requirement instructions on the rebate forms.

You really should calm down. So do you get mad at things normally then shoot random people in the streets? Why not TALK to the store manager?

If everybody would actually read the terms of the rebates there would be no problem. Everybody wants to stick their head in the sand and not read the terms, then claim ignorance and scream that they got screwed. If it was my money I would check it out, but no, i guess it is easier to just irresponsibly cry about it later on in a public forum.

They told us back when we got our razrs that we get $50 mail in rebate per phone so that was $100 in mail in rebate. They filled out the rebate form and we mailed them in. Then we got a letter that the serial numbers were invalid. WTF?
So we went back to the store and talked to the Manager. It took him about to days to fix it in the system and then gave us new serial numbers to put on the form. Then we mailed them in and did get our Rebate after all. So my advice: Talk to the manager there!!!!
