well to be honest with you there is no unlock for the sidekicks... these phones were specifally made for t-mobile and so far no one has been able to unlock them. so i'm guessing you're out of luck. sorry.

Actually i know for a fact they can be unlocked, the only tmobile specific thing about them is the danger servers they use for data, otherwise it is possible to get one up and running on att, i have seen it working and i aso asked for alternatives, as in, other gsm phones with a full qwerty that are not candy bar style...so, out of luck, no, no i am not, but i thank you for your response

well if you were so sure the phones could be unlock.... then why are you asking for alternatives or unlocking the phone? if you were able to unlock them, you would've figured it out by now.

see i would like to buy one unlocked, i dont want to have to buy the codes, to much hassle and i dont trust buying them for the 74 dollars ive seen them sold for on ebay....so i was more looking for somewhere they where selling them unlocked ahead of time, which ive seen done with the sidekick 3 and slide and even phones like the "AT&T exclusive" iphone...so no, just because it says exclusive, doesnt make it exclusive....and i never said i knew how to unlock them, i just know they can be...

Unfortunately your best bet would be to buy a Sidekick and pay to get it unlocked yourself.

T-mobile stopped giving out the unlock codes for the Sidekick because even if you are on another network like AT&T the phone is set to always try to connect to the internet service provided by Danger ( the phone manufacturer ) and there is no way to change the internet settings on the Sidekick to work with any other data service.

And I would not trust any phone bought off of e-Bay , there is no way to verify it has been unlocked or that it even works.

Or you could try one of the other phones with a full keyboard that can be unlocked like a Blackberry , The Dash or The Wing.

See you didnt read wat I said, i was looking to get one on at&t's network that wasn't candy bar, on AT&T that leaves 2, the tilt and duo, both are microsoft mob 6 which are not the message friendly devices im looking for in the sidekick. so, of the TWO options I have considered, neither will work. otherwise I get my pick of gsm phones which i have searched for but none seem to compare to the sidekick...a gsm voyager would be nice for example but obviously that wouldn't work. so something gsm, like the sidekick...find me 300 options to consider and i would appreciate your reply....but of course this is all besides the fact, im just getting a sidekick activated through grand junction co....i live in omaha neb where tmobile has a calling cen...

If you are looking to unlock it anyway there are a myriad of unlocked GSM options in non-candy bar style. softpedia.com/mobile or celluloco should get close to offering the 300 choices i mentioned.
