I stay in NC and we dont have T Mobile here. We have sucky SunCom and their service is horrific...it is even worse than Sprint.... I know that T Mobile brought Suncom but I am not sure when we will actually see T Mobile stores here. I love their plan prices 🙂 they are half of what I am paying now.... Does anyone know when the change will take place and if T Mobile plans on making the coverage BETTER than SunCom? Thanks

They are enhancing the existing towers, everything should be implemented early next year, probably around March.

They once told me that I could get service with them, I would just have to have an out of state number.

You can start service in an area that does have t-mobile coverage and get a phone # local to that area. As long as you get a nation wide plan you can use the t-mobile phone anywhere you can pick up a signal from one of the roaming partners towers.

Only problem is that people who call you will be charged as if there are calling the city you activated the phone from and may be charged long distance.

I stay in North Carolina....so would I have to go to another state that has a T Mobile store to get a phone with them or could I do it over the phone?

I have another phone with a local number so the long distance wont be a problem.

Thanks 😁

A store would have no problem activating you. But I am not sure if orders placed online or over the phone can be shipped outside the coverage area.

about the out of state number..if you by a prepaid phone from any carrier in your state or if you have a current number with another carries you can port the number to tmobile for free. if its prepaid when they ask for your account number you just give them your cell number again since there is no account number
