I just moved to the states from Canada.. Gonna be here for 2 years for school.. I need to get a cell phone so people here can reach me.. I went to verizon store today and they told me I would have to pay 400 dollar.. From what she explained to me I understand Why I would need to pay deposit, but 400 is alot.. Does anyone here know how much it would be through T-Mobile and are there plans better than verizon?

I'm not 100% sure because things can be different if you aren't established in the states but I'd think if you went to a store the worst case scenario would be flex pay where you'd pay your monthly bill in advance each month and pay full price for the phone, even with a high end phone and plan this rarley goes over $400 up front...

However, if you go with a regular plan, all you have to pay with T-Mobile for a deposit is $250. You will be able to choose from the phones that are available for the best pricing available for a new activation. You also will get a regular postpaid plan. That would allow you to text/call Canada without having to put money into your flexa...
