T-Mobo in San Francisco & 3000 Minute Local Plan

Hey there... I have a friend in SF who currently has ATT&W and she is VERY unhappy with it. It looks like she's probably going to go with Verizon (which I have and love) but I've also heard the following things

- T-Mobile has very good coverage in SF. Yay or nay?

- T-Mobile has a really great local plan, 3000 Anytime minutes for $49.99... sounds pretty unbeatable. Any catches or weird things about this?

She's probably still going to go with Verizon (ATTW has scarred her for life when it comes to going with less than premium service), but if anyone has any info on T-Mobo's coverage in SF or whether that Local 3000 min plan is really as good as it sounds, I'll try to pass it along. I have had that plan ever since the day T-M began selling service here. Am in the East Bay but use well over 2000 min. a mo. on that plan all over. 70% useage in East Bay, 20% elsewhere around the Bay, and 10% useage everywhere else from here to Fresno to L.A. and Las Vegas.
Virtually all my useage is during business hours. The cel phone is my main connection to my business life. If it didn't work well, I would be willing to pay more to get something better.
Remember, you can't use it outside Ca/Nv w.o. paying hefty roaming charges. Also, calling LD, outside of Ca/Nv costs 20 cents/min. Many of us use a dial around service that costs 3 cents/min. Using such a service adds about 3-5 seconds to the time it takes to place the call...

The 3k min rate plan is pretty good if you need a lot of daytime usage and you don't make long distance calls. I am a TMobile employee. The coverage area where you can be in and call to is Nevada and California. If you are in CA or NV and call outside of those areas (i.e. washington state) it is $.20/min plus min usage. If you are roaming (i.e. take a trip to washington state) incoming calls are $.49/min and outgoing calls are up to $.69/min. San Fran is one of our biggest markets and overall we have pretty good coverage there. I would suggest (as last replier did) to use the 14 day buyers remorse time period and use it in the most frequently used areas. I can say our service is good but that doesn't say how good it is where you in fa...
