Hello All,
And help!!!! 😢 I decided to go with tmobile because in my area, they are the only ones that you can access the internet and email from your phone cell phone. US Cellular and Unicel said that you still have to have your computer at home hooked up to the internet. Also they said that they can change my home phone number to the cell phone. Well since I am on a really tight budget I know I need to be able to save somehow. I see that there seems to be plenty of good deals online compared to going into the store. The only problem is that when I click onto one of the websites that have the deals, it says that there are no deals in my area. I don't live in a cave on the side of a moutain for crying out loud!! 🤭 So does a...

It sounds as though you are attempting to buy the cell-phone through a third party on-line retailer, which I *strongly* advise against.
Most third party vendors have a secondary contract stating that if you cancel or even alter your service with the provider you are signing up for you will have to pay a penalty fee to the vendor in addition to the termination fee with the provider.

Secondly, most promotions are not available in all markets. Certain phone pricing promotions and even calling plans can vary from state to state even for the same provider and phone.

Also, what type of Internet surfing do you intend to do with your phone? Most phones can only do WAP surfing (unless you get a PDA type device) which in essence is a micro vers...

Do a coverage check on t-mobile's website. Sometimes when they say there are no deals in your area it's because there's no coverage there.

I work in the Boston market and I know our coverage can be kinda sketchy in Maine if your not in a major city. I'm talking like Ogunquit or Kittery.

I also agree that getting a phone from a 3rd party is not the greatest idea. But if you have to do it, read all the fine print and make sure there are no secondary contracts or hidden fees.

Also beware of the guys at the mall. If the sign says T-Mobile authorized dealer, be very wary of doing business with them. The dealer in our areas are not known to be the most honest reps to deal with.

So in otherwords, dont go to an Indirect Agent? Unless that company has a bad reputation, you will have no problem dealing with an indirect dealer. Alot of them dont have you sign a 2nd contract. In fact, corporate dealers are usually dishonest, and a bunch of a-holes. When i worked for cingular we had a store and corporate had a store in the same shopping center, and we were destroying them. People would come in and say he didnt wanna have a conversation or a smile he just wanted to do what he had to and be done with me. thats not customer service. I love how corporate always puts down indirect agents.

I love how indirect agents would always send customers our way to the corporate stores to perform actions we didn't have the capability of doing. It goes both ways.

My experience both as a customer and an employee, indirect is not the desired way to go.

I believe you on that one, and you might have encounters some bad indirect companys, but to say that it isnt the way to go is wrong. I and the company i work for do as much as we are aloud to do, and certain things we arent able to do in store, we call customer support to take care of over the phone. There will always be bickering between corporate and indirect, i find it from my experiences to be jelously. The corporate ive had around the area will lie and say our phones are refurbished, or we arent authorized to sell phones, slandered my name and my reputation. its crazy the crap people pull. The way i see it is despite corporate or indirect, we are playin on the same team. If a person is out of a market i wasnt able to access i would send...
