I am upgrading my phone and would like one that has more volume control or is louder then my currect v330. I tried a nokia 6133 and I find myself pushing the phone into my ear just to hear the other person. does anyone have any experience or advice with other currently offered tmobile phones? thanks in advance

This is a personal question but do you have any type of hearing issues that would require you to wear any type of hearing aide? If so some phone are designed to be used in conjunction with the hearing aide to improve the volume on the phone.

If not, try using a Bluetooth headset with the phone. Some of the headsets we sell at the stores are designed with a little piece that sits in your ear instead rather than just on the outside of your ear. The Plantronics headsets are usually the ones that have it. They are slightly more comfortable than the other headsets we have and because the speaker sits in your ear it helps drown out background noise that can interfere with you hearing the other person.

The is also the possiblility that you 61...

no hearing issues that I know of but thats not to say I dont have one. I just know that the 6133 is not loud enough for me and there is a distinct hiss that gets annoying after awhile.

after much research I have found that there is a program so that you can change the volume on most moto phones. I am going to try a moto rizr phone tomorrow and hopefully that will be better.

I love the screens and features of the 6133 but they are worthless if the phone isnt even good as a phone to me.

If the speaker has a hiss it's probably a speaker issue which is covered by warranty as long as there's no physical or liquid damage that is causing it.

Is the program something you download onto the phone itself? Most "branded" phones, meaning the say T-Mobile on the outside of the phone somewhere, won't let you access any 3rd party programs once they're on the phone or won't even let you download them at all.

Nokias in general tend to have the best call volume. If you're heading to a store to try out the RIZR try out the 5300 and a different 6133. Also have one of the reps try a call on your phone just to see.

I'd rather see you get your phone replaced for 10-15 dollars through the warranty than to have to spend $149.99 on another...

I just got the 6133 a few days ago. I am able to exchange it if not happy so I am trying to do as much research as possible. as I said the features are great but the receive just isnt as loud as I would expect. I am coming from a moto v330 which Ive had for 2 years. as for the software I refered to I have not read up completely on it but Im sure its pc and you connect the phone to the usb to run the program. I dont believe it is something you load onto the phone. I will try a few phones because after this exchange there is a $25 fee to exhange anymore

You do not have a hearing issue. The 6133 has very low volume. Many people have commented about this on different forums. I have purchased that phone also and it indeed has low volume. So does the 6131 & 6126 (same model different versions).

are you a qualified doctor? nice to know there is nothing wrong with my ears lol

I didnt think it was my hearing as I can hear a hiss from the receiver but still have trouble hearing the other person. I did take the 6133 back to tmo for an exchange which I am entitled to within 15 days and got the motorola krzr and while there is no hiss and the sound quality/volume are better the phone is lacking in many ways. the UI is slow. the speaker phone is not any better then the nokia. customization is very limited. external screen is worthless. for the price difference and the fact that the krzr cost an extra 70 bucks I will be returning it and getting the 6133 back. I will just have to learn to live with the volume issue unless someone figures ...
