If a really poor person served you very gross looking food would you eat it not to offend them, because they are taking away from themselves to give to you?

Yeah... I don't like to offend people, and my family was once pretty, how can I say this, broke. We had five kids in a two bedroom house, and everyone gave us the same courtesey, so I would extend that to anyone else. 🙂

I feel the same way. My family was homeless once, but I've heard stories of dishes being served with little roaches in it. 😛 🙄

I heard about a fruit that is not allowed on the subways in Singapore and if carried without refridgeration (sp) it can smell like a dead body. 😕

I also had the chance to try many fruits that I never knew existed. Jack Fruit, Ranbutan, and the deathly stinky Durian for example. Durian is so stinky, it is illegal to carry it inside of a taxi or airplane I have heard. Yet some how, people enjoy eating it... I guess it's something like sardines.

It's called Durian.... Sounds kinda wierd? 😳 😕 😳

I think Durian is the name of the fruit I am talking about. There is one that has teh consistancy of an onion and the outside skin is supposed to resemble that of a lizard. 😛

yeah, my mom loves durian. it's one of her favorites. the skin is wierd, though, all spiky and stuff, I think you can probably hurt a person depending on how ripe the fruit is.
as for lychee, I have never had it fresh, but I have had canned lychee in syrup and some lychee candies, and even dried lychee chips. it's not bad.
you get exposed to some interesting foods when your mother is thai.

Please do not post random chat messages like this in this forum. This belongs in the "Lounge" forum.

If your employer doesn't let you access that forum, then it's because they don't want you posting messages exactly like this on their dime. Obviously they monitor this site enough to selectively block parts of it, so I'm guessing that continuing to post messages like this in this forum will result in one of two things:

1. Disciplinary action against you.

2. Your employer blocking access to all forums, and possibly this whole site.

I wish there was something else I could do to give you guys a place to chat, but any action I might take would inevitably trigger a response from your IT guys, which would probably be #2 above. They have...
