Former ATTWS Customers That owe Cing money

Here is an interesting question that was posted in another forum.

I'd like real answers for this question. Speculation is ok as well but lets keep it to a minimum.

What happens if an ATTWS customer owes Cingular money and they migrate to Cingular? Does this mean the customer loses their account (frozen) until they pay the money they owe?

What about people that owe money to ATTWS? Will their debts go away? Will Cingular pick up the outstanding debts (which is considered loss) and attempt to collect? Yes I know this is more of a collections department question.

Cingular and ATTWS uses the same billing system and will eventually be in one giant database, so if you switch you will still get bills for your old ATTWS until its paid and if you don't pay em your Cingular phone could get cut off.

The money that is own to Cingular would be dependent on what stage of collections it is in and how it would be dealt with....

the problem with your question is that nothing is disappearing the companies are merging all records on accounts will still be there and will be viewed buy care so a cingular rep can see information on your ATTWS account

In other words you don't really know either. Hmm....

It will be interesting to see what happens when the merge is finished.

I have a few friends on ATTWS that owes Cing money. This is the reason I posted. I want to know what happens to them when they migrate.

Part of what CdnCSR said is true. IF you owe ATTWS money, you can still migrate your line to Cingular, you will just still owe Cingular money. However, if you owe Cingular money and you want to migrate over you will not be allowed to migrate until you have paid your debt to Cingular.

AWS and cingular are merging. How ever all AWS customers will still be using the AWS systems unless they choose to upgrade. AWS will still be collecting AWS debts for Cingular. AWS will still be here but we will just be called Cingular or AWS legasy
