gophone question

Is there anyway to unlock a GoPhone? also, is it possible that I can purchase one as a replacement phone (lets say I broke my phone, and I can afford a $300 replacment, can I buy one and just pop my old cingular sim card in it?

I have never tried this but as much I have heard yes you can. Don't take my word in it but it should work.

It's easier to unlock Nokias (Cingular won't send an unlock code for a GoPhone), but yes, you can get them unlocked easily, and you'd be able to just buy one, not buy any minutes and slap in your Cingular SIM card & go. I've done it once myself, and have guided 2 cow-orkers through the process successfully.

Yes Cingular will provide an unlock code for GoPhone...
"If customer is PrePaid:
And BAN is active more than 90 days, and no unlock code requested in last 6 months, proceed with request Reduced Price Handset - Prepaid Account."

Well, I'm happy to admit wrong on that one - I don't know if I missed that of if it's a recent addition (it's been a while since I dealt directly with customers), but yay for unlocking!

so i had that pantech PG-C120 in mind, cuz it looks pretty good, any ideas for unlocking it, preferably for free?
