Model Replacing V600
I have being Sprint customer for last couple of years . I am thinking of switching of cingular but v600 got recalled . How is the Cingular GSM service in NY/NJ area and across 50 America. Sprint is ok but they dont have any bluetooth phone. Do most of the bluetooth phones have file transfer function as for v710 by verizon it was disabled .
Now Verizon is coming out with ther world phone but I dont know if that is Quad band or not.

As of right now, GSM is covering about $65 of the US. It has only been launched nationwide, 10 months ago. GSM however has been in the states since 2000. If you can give me exact zip codes where you need service and myself or one of the other reps can look up coverage for you. Yes, the SE T637 and the V600 both have bluetooth file transfer. CIngular also has the Nokia 6620 out now, with bluetooth, and the Nokia 6230 (with bluetooth) should be out this month...hopefully.
Verizon's world phone operates on CDMA in the states and has GSM capability overseas. The phone is listed on the main page of this website. I think it has both GSM frequencies for overseas.

Zip code is 08550 , I will be making all over the US mostly in the Northeast Area. I am looking for a flip bluetooth phone with camera .

v600 was pulled due to a problem with the antenna picking up 800 Mhz, which Cingular uses in a lot of markets. it has been fixed, and the replacement ones are in stock for people that currently own them.
The replacement short term will be the v551, and in the future will be the v620

yeah, i know that but buddy said the v620 will be after that. I don't see us dropping an EDGE phone for a non-EDGE phone that does the same thing.

i know that, but he was talking about the v620. we know the v551 is coming, he was saying that it's short term and the v620 was next in line. i was making the point that the v551 has EDGE and the v620 doesn't.

i work for cingular wireless the gsm coverage in ny is excellent relatively all over the city/state. come to cingular we would appreciate and value you as a customer.

I dont no where you live in New york but try to drive out to suffolk county and I gurantee you, your service will be a big issue. Service in Suffolk County New York is the worst service out of all the major carriers. I hope with the ATT merger it will help improve the network and gaps. I am just talking about in sufflok. I now in Nassau County and Towrds NYC their service is night and day an is much approved.
