So I have been going through phones the past few months like its my job.....wait cell phones are my job. Anyways, I purchased a brand new Nokia 6230 off ebay, and despite it being a little older, I really do like the phone. I get reception in places I never did before, and the sound quality and loudness is amazing. Is this really that good of a phone, because I will stick with it if it is.

That is one of the few phones ive never had to do an exchange on, had it for 3 years still works great with 600+ hours of talk time on it, great choice!

I fried mine riding my bike to work in a huge downpour. Even let it dry for 2 days without attempting to start it and nothing. It was so dependable for 2 years. I really miss that phone. All it needed was an MP camera and a better screen and it would have been truly perfect. My Treo 650 is a not a worthy replacement by a longshot.

I've had that phone for over two years now and still love it. The only thing that when wrong is it only vibrates at quarter strength but that's after 2 years of heavy use. Still haven't found a worthy replacement for it.

I too have one of these and finding a replacement has been very hard. It is a GREAT phone.
If the phone is Cingular branded, send it off to Evan at inulock and he will put on the standard Nokia firmware, I believe 5.5 is the latest firmware.
It made my phone even better than it was, faster response and a tiny bit better RF, which is saying a lot because the 6230 is one of the THE BEST phones regarding RF, period.

Dont forget to pair it with a BT headset.
If you add 2 gig memory card you can have all the tunes you need also.

good luck

I would agree with that statement, and then I owned a Blackberry.

But very true, altogether solid device.

I honestly still miss the simplicity of mine from time to time, but the Pearl has anything and everything I could ever come to desire in a phone.

Except for video recording. *shrug.

It's really not that good of a phone. What you are experiencing is called "newphonesyndrome". See, you think that you are getting better service because you are so excited about the new phone that you don't notice that the service is still the same crappy service that it was on your old phone. It...

No, actually I think its a really good phone. And I never said I had "crappy service", I simply said that it seemed as though I got signal in a couple spots where I hadn't before.
