Are You Satisfied With Cingular?

the_eraser

*** CR! I am sick of their stupid results. Like someone else said, it seems like they copy and paste the results year after year.
Well, let do OUR OWN POLL. If you have Cingular: How satisfied are you? Elaborate!!!

I am satisfied because my phone works EVERYWHERE! I have a good plan. Most the people I know (fam/friends) have Cingular. And I know for a fact that they are very satisfied too. etc etc etc.

Cingular

How Good 😛

Middling to low levels of consumer satisfaction. Static and busy circuits where widespread problems as they have been in our previous surveys. Relatively low marks for helpfulness in handling customer questions and complaints ☚ī¸

WTF is your problem? Is Verizon's UI driving you to troll in here? If you READ the thread this is a poll for people who HAS Cingular (NOW) not 1 or 2 yrs ago. So, let's keep it that way, Army!

What? What? Hold on! let me switch from my BT headset to my phone. Vzw crippled the BT on my phone and now I get disconneted if I move two feet away from my phone...

How was his statement weaker than yours?
It's obvious that we don't care what CR has to say about Cingular. And I know that anyone who has cingular (like many of us here) and reads that article will reconsider/question CR's credibility

Yet amazing how their subscriber numbers continue to increase and their churn continues to decrease at industry leading rates. NO ONE has come close to dropping churn as fast as Cingular has since aquiring ATTWS.

Funny thing is, if you sample the same base year after year you will get the same results. If consumer reports sampled outside their subscriber base maybe the results would vary more than they do now. What good does it do to rate Sprint when you don't even survey their Nextel base? Is that fair to Sprint?

Consumer reports has been flawed in the past and I will never rely on their small sampling size for making a decsion. How can you trust a company that gives Bose low quality marks because they would not fork over a pair ...

Static? if you knew how GSM works you'd know that it is impossible to have 'static' on a GSM phone. I think it's funny what some people consider 'static'. The other day I was driving on the highway while on the phone. The person on the other end said it sounded like there was static on the line. I got off on an exit and the 'static' was magically gone. 🙄 I knew what he meant when he said it. All GSM phone do this....

Yes. Wholly and completely.

With my almost five years of being a customer, I have never experienced any coverage troubles. I've had some type of usable signal (be it native or roaming, which doesn't really matter) everywhere I have been. The service works when I need it to, and it works well. Dropped calls are a rarity, blocked calls are non-existant, and garble is to a minimum. Overall, I now rate it slightly ahead of Verizon's network in Pittsburgh which exemplifies the progress the network has made since the beginning of my usage with them.

The prices are reasonable and for the quality of the service, I would not find a better deal out there. Rollover, although some people may call it gimmicky, has been a savior to me on several occ...

Probably he thinks Cingular sucks. I know a lot of people who think that Vzw/Sprint/T-Mo (etc) sucks. This all comes down to personal experience. Your friend probably think it sucks cuz (let's say) he didn't get a mail in rebate back or didn't get a credit when he went over his mins or was not allowed to change his phone every six months... etc, etc.
The truth is that Cingular's network is not even the shadow of what it used to be before the merger. You know this, WE (the ones who have had cingular for a while) know this too!
You instead choose to come in here to disagree with what we know by saying thin...

How do you come to a forum like this and talk about what your "friend" did, or what you have been "told"? Do you have any experiences of your own? 🙄

Honestly I have been with Verizon for 10 years, even when they were Bell Atlantic Mobile. I WISH another carrier would blow them out of the water because Verizon employee's for the most part are immature children that know nothing except how to lie to sell a phone. Why can't somebody come out and make a cell company that uses satelites?

The irony in your message is that I was a customer of Verizon for nearly 8 years (even back when they were Bell Atlantic Mobile) and I left them for that exact reason. One of their representatives blatantly lied to my face about a problem their "satellites" were having...making excuses for why my service was not working properly. I ditched them that day.

Ever since then I've been perfectly content with Cingular and every aspect of their service. So perhaps you shouldn't base your opinions off of what somebody else "said."

I thought I heard there were, but it is EXTREMELY expensive. No plans. Charge for every min.

I am for the most part satisfied. IN MY AREA it has gotten MUCH better. When I first signed up, I got a lot of dropped calls and "Network Busy". Most conversations also were garbled. Since 2004, my calls and reception are much better. I get more bars of signal than some friends on Verizon. I have family on Verizon and they have trouble getting calls out, reception, and dropped calls.

I have tried just about every carrier and it comes down to location and what is important to you. 9 out of 10 people are on Cingular in my area and that does cause load on the towers (so I have been told).......but geez, every carrier has good and bad points and NO CARRIER IS PERFECT.........especially everywhere.

LGs seem to do better than many pho...

I have the LG CU500. Now it has dropped a call before in an area where the RAZR didn't, but at my house and some other areas the LG gets a stronger signal and doesn't have quite as much cutting in and out.

Most of my friends have the LG L1400 and they wouldn't trade them.

CU500 and L1400 are among the two best phones LG has made for Cingular. LG is really hit or miss otherwise.

Tons of customers had problems with the c1300 and c1500

Some coworkers told me the same about those. Cingular reps and sales people have told me that you get what you pay for also.

I try to stay away from the inexpensive and free phones if I can.

I am...I have had Cingular since April of this year and have had very few complaints about service or reception. I previously had Sprint, and 99% of the dropped calls I do get come when I am talking to a Sprint user...go figure. 😛 I like my phone. I like that it is GSM and not crappy CDMA...I like Cingular. 🙂
