Docking feature

Is there any reason why anyone hasn't come up with a decent home docking system for cell phones?
Eliminate your land line carrier. Come home and "dock" your cellphone to your home wiring.
Make or receive calls from your existing house phones using your cell minutes.
Bluetooth technology should make this easy.

BTW: If you have a Wi-Fi cellphone, is there a way to make free calls with your cellphone in a free wi-fi environment?

Cingular did have a device (called fastforward). You sat your phone in the holder and set it to foward and all the calls would be routed to your home phone number (or any number you specify). It has since been discontinued in most stores.

As far as Wi-Fi, I believe t-mo is testing something like this right now. Other than that, you'd have to actually have a number 'based on the net' to make the call independent of the cell network. (vonage)

look up cell socket brand. i have one works great. put your cell in it hook any landline into it and you have a home phone thru your cell number. you have to dial the number then hit # to dial out is the only odd thing. if you do get it you can also disconnect the line from your pole where it goes into your box outside and plug a line from the cellsocket to a jack and it works as reverse wired system and your entire house is then wired to your cell.
