OK im getting tired of Cingular being stupid about releasing new phones!
Is it just me, or does it seem like Cingular/ATT is really droping the ball with new phone releases.
I mean come on the current line up is getting a little aged. I would like to see more interesting phones, than the ones that we have in the lineup please. 👿
Motorola - Ok i'll say it for every one cause im sure that they are thinking it.... Death to the v3 & v3i. They are very old and need to be replaced with some new blood. Need a 3G phone here...please something non razr would be nice. Secondly can they come up with a new original phone, im getting tired of the thin lets beat the razr format in to the dust crap they are comming out with. Oh and they need to go ahead an release the V365 PTT phone.

I agree with you that Cingular is behind the times on keeping up to date on the latest and greatest phones. Cingular has had the same line up for about 12 to 18 months while its competitors, Sprint and Verizon usually update their stock every 4 to 6 months. I have had to go to other service providers to try these phones because for some reason Cingular just refuses to market them. If Cingular made the newer phones available I'm sure they would have more customers. One of the reasons I stick with them is because they have some of the cheaper rates, and because I get decent reception in my house. When I've tried other providers, their reception is poor to non-existent in my home and their rates are more pricy especially for their data plans.

O man I wish I had read this post before I wrote mine. I to am completly dissapointed and I really hope they plan on doing something about this next year. I mean why are all the companies slacking on Inovative 3G phones. Even T-mobiles coming out with better feature phones. HOW CAN TMOBILE GET WIFI enabled device's before cingular. Cingular has nothing out the ordinary right now and therer HSDPA line is completly non existent....sigh I hope there reading this!!!!!!!

The Treo 680 only came out about four days ago. That means released by Palm, it then has to go through Cingular testing before it can come out. The 750 will likely be out before the 680.
The 8525 is soon. Not this week soon, but very soon.
The Pearl is a T-mo exclusive right now, but once that's done Cingular will be pushing the heck out of it. They're beating the suretype keyboard into the heads of the reps so that we can really promote the pearl when it hits, and since the data plans are cheaper on the BB than on any other PDA it's only real competition will be the Nokia E62.

Do not make any excuses for Cingular. They have been dragging their feet for a while now. VZ seems to have streamlined their process to get phones to the market much earlier. Maybe they should follow VZ's model.

The LG 7200 and 9200 pissed me off when we had them. They would've sold well, but we couldn't get them in stock! We'd order them, and they wouldn't show up at the store for over a month.

I did say that we needed a phone like the sidekick. Not the sidekick itself. I dispise that phone for all its worth. Cingular should look to europe/ asia for some inspiration to get the next hottest thing for their line up.

Don't get me wrong, I fully agree that Cingular's phone lineup has been stagnant to say the least. They need change.
However, if you go back through your complaints, nearly everything you pointed out goes back to the manufacturers not making new, quality phones available to Cingular as a company. Yes, I'm sure Cingular has a large part in that (they could approach the manufactureres, right?) but it surely looks like Cingular isn't the only company to blame here.

Thank you. Not to mention that some of the phones were canceled for some reason or another or they have been delayed to horribly long for political reasons. I'm done with Cingular if their aren't atleast 3 UMTS/HSDPA handsets by Christmas. I'm not going to keep turning clueless customers away when they come in asking when we're getting the chocolate or sidekick. I wish I could tell them "check this phone out! This is like the chocolate, but better!" or "This is Cingular's version of the Sidekick, but this is a much better device not to mention the service is 100x better!"

I agree with everybody but when is Cingular going to release the w710, that is the phone I would want and im sure everybody agrees with me. Not a flagship and not to entry model, but just right like me. If they had this phone everything would be right with them. Getting tired of VGA cameras for flips.

D807 is a great phone, no doubt, but I get more returns for that device than any right now.

Why exactly were they canceled? Something to do with the firmware Cingular insisted on? Maybe disabling the wifi on the N80?
