Step aside, Nokia. Blackberry in the house!

I've always heard people say that, once you get a Blackberry, you can never go back.

Well, yesterday, I got one for free. I had used one very moderately before, but never as if it was mine. Not even 24 hours I believe I am addicted to Blackberrys, for life.

No wonder why they call them Crackberrys!

Goodbye 6682, it's been a long tenure. Goodbye dreams of buying a w810, your buttons are entirely too small. Goodbye dreams of getting an unlocked e70 from the Nokia store in NY. I think I've found my soulmate.

(Of course this could all change in due time)

8700. If we sell 4 blackberrys (data package or not) in the month of October, we win a free Pearl.

I've already sold 2, and 2 of my buddies that I work with have sold their 4, so their going to help me get my last 2.

THE PEARL IS AMAZING. Even though the 8700 seems like the second coming of Jesus right now, the Pearl is utterly fantastic.

Which one did you get? Blackberry gave me the 7130. I've used it for two weeks, and I hate it. I promised I'd use it for 2 months, so I'm going to. I hate the keyboard. I hate the scroll wheel. I hate that I can't transfer files via bluetooth. I hate that there's no camera. I hate that you can't expand the memory. I hate the menu navigation. I like the calendar, but I hate using it because of the dang scroll wheel. I hate that you can't copy all your contacts onto the SIM, but you can copy all of your SIM onto the phone. I hate that there's no MP3 player. I hate that I have to click the dang wheel in to select something. Why can't I assign the dang middle button to be the "select" key? I can assign it any other function BUT th...

I didn't hate one until I used it. Before then I just disliked them.

What promotion is giving out the Pearl? Isn't that supposed to be a T-Mo exclusive?

It's coming out for Cingular on November 15th, according to my bosses.

And it's my bosses giving out the Pearl, not corporate cingular.

My account rep was just in my store and told me the same thing. They've been pushing us to use the 7130s so we can get used to the suretype keypad, and then help promote those to customers.

He also talked about the products and services after the BellSouth aquistion and rebranding. Wow! All I can say is T-Mo and Sprint will have a lot of catching up to do if they want to be competitive. It's all going to be between Verizon and ATT.

Talk to your account rep about it. Nothing is official and I'm sure as heck not gonna post anything. One of my friends works on Verizon's Fios services so I know where they're going with it. We're going in the same direction as them but we can seriously out compete them because of our GSM standpoint.

I really think with the services we'll both offer it'll be highly competitive between the two companies, which will keep prices low.

It's kinda queer that I'm getting excited over this, but I think our industry is gonna be one heck of a rollercoaster over the next year. I've got a white knuckled grip and I'm ready for the ride!

um. i had a 7290,8700 and a 7130 until the day we launched the e62........ i have found a replacement for my dear blackberry... but i still have my blackberry address on the nokia... oh, and symbian 9.1 is great... a little slow, but no crashes, freeze up, no resetting for no reason... and voice is great...

don't try the e62 if you love blackberry. you will find a new love.....

i think it the clickwheel that does it. i am not a big bb fan but some like the 8700 and the 7130 even though its a little slow are nice. but the 9300 using the bb service is the best of both worlds. except for the no vibrate thing :-(
