Family Plan Question - adding additonal lines

rb

Sep 5, 2006, 8:37 PM
At the moment I have a family plan with 2 lines under contract for another year. If I added a 3rd line to that, would that extend the contract for all three lines for two additonal years or just the 3rd line?

Is it possible to only get a contract for the 3rd line for one year? (phone is available).

What if one of the lines wanted to split off into it's own account some time down the road?

Once the contract time is over (assuming you dont want to pay the ETF) then you have the number ported onto a new account and have that line deactivated. Pretty simple, might take a few minutes but basically simple.

um. let's explain it the correct way. no matter what the contract is on the line you activate, if you transfer the line to another person, YOU WILL NOT have pay contract fees... you do NOT PORT the number to another account, they simply move it to another account in the new persons name... or even to yours... your line DOES NOT become deactived, it just moves to another account )either because of a different account number or someone else that holds the financial responsibility.

And yes you can have a year contract on to your family plan of the new person being added you just don't get the cheaper price of the phone if you don't do a two year contract with it. I had that just done when I added my mother to my family plan....
