Several years ago cell phone companies had a home device that you put your cell phone into and you could use it and extensions as you would a normal land line phone. Is there anything like that out there now?

Cingular had the "fast forward" service. I'm not sure if its still around or not, but that's what it's called. You put the phone in the cradle, it recognizes that, then forwards the calls to a landline.

On a trip to Circuit City last month I remember seeing a device that lets you use your mobile phone line on home landline and possibily landline extensions. It consisted of a cradle that had multiple adaptors to plug into different makes of mobile phones.

The best I could find by google search was the Motorola SD4505. It is only compatible with some Motorola models.
