Why did T-Mobile release the 8801?

that phone is over hyped. the titanium or whatever metal its made of is all its really worth.

now if they made an massive internal memory chip or something like 20gigs atleast then it would be a great buy at the $500 price.

Yeah, I'll have to agree with sowhatsowhat. The phone is nothing special and over priced. My 2 year old Nokia 6600 has better features than that thing. The only way I would use it is if I got it for free.

People buy that phone because they are into 'style'. I have used the phone myself and must admit it is nice. There is nothing wrong with paying alot for a phone if you really like it & you can afford it. It doesn't appeal to the feature-crazed people like myself but that doesn't mean it isn't a worthwhile phone. It reminds me of when the razr first came out; everyone said too expensive but the minute it came down in price everyone (and I mean everyone) had to have it. ๐Ÿ˜
