Very interesting. I do think that the research company needs to release the data it collected but that will not happen because they sell it. But I think Verizon and all the other carriers should buy the info to see whats going on. Since they were drive tests, I certainly believe them over asking a small sample of customers like JD and Consumer Reports. You can see just how biased people are about their carrier in this forum. Also JD and Consumer surveys are horrible. One year they had Cingy tied for best in the NE and 1 point behind Nextel in SW but this year they are fourth when Cingy has turned on so many new cell sites and completed integration in many of these same areas. Thats BS, I would prefer info from the drive test b/c they ...

Wow, where to start on this one.

The long and short: this "article" is pure garbage.

In detail, there are so many holes in this story I actually would challenge the personal bias of the writer.

First and foremost, he starts the article off claiming that Cingular offered no evidence in their advertising. Ok. But when asked, Cingular directed to Telephia.

This isn't a secret either as other sources have cited Telephias testing. But I understand where his idea came from in that Cingular didn't trumpt it.

Then he jumps back and forth from Telephia to Cingular. They said this, they said that. Uh, ok.. well Telephia didn't release the statistics, and they said Cingular shouldn't have even brought them up.

Well, uh they didn't as ...

Hey I agree with you dude. But someone should buy the results and release them. I do think that the drive tests are accurate and the surveys that the others do are garbage. Looks like integration and the huge network investments are paying off for Cingy's customers. I switched all my lines from Cingy to VZ because of the its the network crap and I have been very disappointed. Then you see a JD report saying that Cingy finished 4th in the SW. But when we are out driving around Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and other areas, Cingy actually works in more places. It is very hilarious that TMo is tops for the area and I can get you more than 5 people to tell you otherwise. Anyways, to make a long story short, I do believe in the driv...

All cell phone companies use half truths in their advertisements, but when cingular does it everyone goes "That can't be true!" Take that how you will.

Reminds me of the dollar bill sketch on madtv talking about oscars and catherine zeta jones
"Thats the b*tch that sold me my cell phone and it don't work nowhere!"
