I have been with Verizon for longer than I care to remember. and although I have had no problems with dropped calls or static at all, I cant stand the fact that they have no phones to choose from! The only thing that has been holding me back from jumping to Cingular is that I kleep hearing rumors that teh service is no good. I live in the MD/DC are but travel the country a lot. So how bout it? Should I stay or should I go?
you should be good to go in that area. you could always try it out, as Cingular does have a 30-day return policy in the event you are unhappy for any reason. the people on this site that tell you the service is no good usually base their comments on heresay or 5 year old rep...

i dont know too much about cingular but i know t-mobile is only pcs, so for lack of a better term i suggest a "tri-mode" gsm phone so that you can roam.
i think tri-band would be a better term 😉
just a little tidbit to add:
also, roaming only works if your carrier has an agreement to begin with. t-mobile does have SOME agreements, but just because you have a tri-band phone (including 850mhz, since 900,1800 are european) doesnt mean you'll get whatever is there. and they don't have as many roaming agreements with cingular as they once did.

All Cingular phones have at least dual-band 850/1900mhz frequencies, which is all that's need...
