there is a North America Plan, (which i couldnt find on the website for some reason??)

basically it's the Nation plan with the addition of Mexico and Canada - no roaming or long distance, rollover minutes, but unable to add a line on a family talk with it.

details are:
59.99 - 400 anytime/1000 n&w
69.99 - 650/1000
99.99 - 1100/1000
149.99 - 1800/1000

The main reason that this price plan is not on the web site is because you have to have international calling on your phone which is not allowedd untill after 6 monhts with good payment history, so if you are a new customer you will have to wait 6 months or more depending on payment history only exception that I know of is Major busines accounts can have it from the start. Also I think it only cover Montreal and some surronding areas. And Mexico City and surronding areas. Other places there is roaming outside of the USA

The North America Plan covers a ton of Canada, I was suprised at the coverage out there. Basically any major city or town in Canada is covered. As for Mexico, the major cities in Mexico are covered and I can't imagine many customers needed to go out into the country side of Mexico to use their phones. As for not being able to activate under the new North America plan, I have only activated 1 of these plans, but there was no delay, they set it right up immediately. The reason it's not on the website and displayed in most stores is Cingular's current push is on the GSM Nation plans only since Verizon, Sprint PCS, and TMobile seem to be pushing their nation plans.

What market are you in. I know there are two markets that can have ICA from the start and the only one I know of off the top of my head is GLR (michagian, ohio, Illinios.) other than that they can not have the north amercian plan for a brand new customer, go check your cingular beats from when the launched and it has it in there unless you are in the two markets that can have ICA. The only ohter reason you might have been able to activate off a north amercian plan from the start is because the rep that did the activating was not aware of this. Cingular puts these gards on ICA because it is a very coslty charge when it is used and we have no guarntee that the customer will pay these $100 - $1,000 costs of using ICA.

I'm in the Upstate New York market and haven't run into any issues... so maybe that's the second market. We rarely get any information on the protocols for other markets.

it should still be on the website though, since it's where a lot of our customers get information from nowadays. i get people in all the time that say things like "well, [service provider] has a plan that covers canada", and i say so do we, and they reply "oh really? i didnt see it on the site". i can understand the push on the nation plan, and that's all i sell (i dont even show the region plans), but for consumers to make a comparison, it should be on the site - as the original post show...

ATTWS has an add on of 19.95 for Canada and then they treat is as part of the Nation wide calling ... that sounds like a better deal to me.

The rates published here suck !!! 99$ for 1100
