Is cingular ever going to have competitive rate plans ever or just charge some of the highest rates in the industry while give the worst customer service...Cingular charges the highest for the data plans, mins and phones. Raising the Bar??...RIGHT..

Cingular charges the most for minutes? Not really, they have the same exact price points as Verizon and Cingular's plans include Rollover while Verizon's do not.

Cingular charges the highest for phones? Not really, once again. Cingular has a much wider range of phones than other companies, so you have a choice. If you don't want to spend $300 on a phone, you don't have to. There are plenty of affordable alternatives to the high priced phones with the same features. The z520 for example. Not to mention the five or six phones that they are always offering for free.

Check out there website, I'm sure you'll notice that your were mistaken.

While I will agree that their data is a over-priced, their minute plans are right in line with Verizon. How is that not competitive?

I think what he was getting at is Cingualar is as expensive as Veriaon and costs more on the data side when they should be less then Verizon due to inferior network reliability and customer service.
In other words Cingular should cost less then the best. I have both carriers and concur (although I do not want to see my Verizon rates rise) 😕

Due to inferior network reliability and customer service? Well what does that mean to somebody who is happier with Cingular service than they ever were with Verizon? I've personally used both and I will tell you that wherever I have gone I've had a better cellular experience with Cingular than I have with Verizon. I don't see any of the "inferior network reliability" that you speak of.

Cingular tops Verizon some places, Verizon tops Cingular in others. I think both companies prices are fair and I don't mind paying a little more for the best.

Well having both services and working in the airline industry I can say without hesitation Verizon has the better national coverage. Having said that. It does not preclude the need for Cingular though, especially in the south and midwest. But I do get much fewer dropped calls on Verizon in general, I wish I could get by with one carrier. Perhaps soon I will.

I live in the northeast and I've had better experiences with Cingular throughout this part of the nation than I have with Verizon. That's right, less dropped calls too.

How can you say that your min. plans are competitive. You are comparing two highest priced companys out there. At least with verizon you get a advanced 3G network which at this time no GSM network can touch when it comes to multimedia and advanced data products. Cingular even charges to browse and download pic. and ringtones. How much sense does that make. Lets face it, other than the ability to swap phones with SIM cards with Cingular, it does not have any advantage over Verizon and T-Mobile blows every national carrier out of the water with 1500 mins. for $40.00 and an extra $ 10 for nights and weekends. The parent company of cingular is to blame. If anybody had bellsouth phone service when it was a monopoly, You know how they treated you....

Their minute plans are competitive because they are EXACTLY THE SAME except for the fact that Cingular offers you Rollover and Verizon does not. You're getting more for the same price at Cingular. Additionally, the voice rate plans have no relation to Verizon's 3G network so your statement about Verizon at least offering a 3G network is moot when it comes to voice. The only thing EVDO affects is data and for that you have to pay $15 for junk content, or $60 for unlimited browsing.

Seriously, stop trying to pick a fight and take your crap opinions to the Verizon forum if you love their (same) prices so much.

Let the name calling begin....ruff1415 does not have the decency to have a debate..everything is a fight to you cingys who got suckered into two year contracts at a high $dollar amount, less mins. and the Worst customer service....I feel your pain to but as soon as you are out of contract you can join me at T-Mobile (not verizon as you refered to) So if you want to debate, answer in a human manner or keep your crap opions to yourself.

Never once did I call you a name. And quite honestly, I'm up for a debate...with a person who has a worthy opinion. It is unbelievable how many people feel the need to come into the Cingular forum and start what they claim to be "an innocent debate". Is it really necessary to compare your said companies to Cingular all the time? Is Cingular that big of a threat to what you hold dear?

Come on and get real. Nobody but you is buying that this was intended to be an innocent debate.

Decency...well starting a flame war isn't exactly what I would call decent. 😉
