Elnegro54

Its November first and I see no new posting or update on cingular's page concerning 3g phones or even that Seirra Air Card. Even the stores said to expect it today...Do we need to wait or was the info wrong?

hey its the famous TX.. lol...

well according to SF, phonescoop, and hofo, it mentions "An internal link to Cingular's sales website has revealed that the carrier plans to launch their 3G network on November 1".. (https://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=1 419)

they also did mention it during their call and a bit on their presentation slides that i showed earlier, and it shows about 4th quaterish then it says in the language to the right of the diagram.

i just checked cingular.com to try to do a fake buy for the 3g situation since i live in boston and it didnt exist...

that is why some of the clerks and reps have no idea what they are talking about and i dont follow hofo that much... they arent really a good source to use... cingular did say that they are goign to have 15-20 markets by years end 2005... so thats in 1 or 2 more months...

go here https://csp.cingular.com/Facets/BMG/ValProp/n etoverview/umts/Cingular_UMTS_Announce_12_04. doc

very nice information about the facts about cingular's roll out..

"ӢUMTS provides average download speeds of 220-320 kbps with burst speeds over 350 kbps. Cingular plans to launch UMTS service in 15 Р20 markets by the fourth quarter of 2005 and most major markets by the end of 2006"
"
When will UMTS deployment begin? What is the rollout schedule?
Cingular is planning to deploy UMTS in 15-20 markets by the fourth quarter of 2005 and most major markets by the end of 2006. The company is currently finalizing the specific cities and dates of the deployments. Announcements will be made in the future as we get closer to commercial...

I believe there was a whole thread about this but maybe I'm thinking about HoFo.

"The 3G network (HSDPA) is expected to provide average download data speeds of 400-700 kilobits per second (kbps) and bursts of several megabits per second (Mbps)"

when talking about the capabilities of UMTS you should not forget to mention HSDPA which is kinda like what EDGE is to GPRS.

i dont know if its form hofo or here, but i know that hofo isnt a very good source to use becuase of their error in reporting this new technology to come november 1st.

well hsdpa isnt like umts.. it is an upgrade that provides highier speeds then what umts says.. (around 14mb/s)

Ok, same question. How can it be delayed when it was not commercially announced?

You mention 3 NON-Cingular sites referencing an internal Cingular site where that information is no longer available (if it ever was).

nextel18

Nov 1, 2005, 2:29 PM
actually SF mentioned that and i was relaying the information to you...

there are sites from cingular that mentions that they are going to do 15-20 markets by years end.. also on the call they said they would do the same thing.....

(call= conference call)

well, it was commercially announced sort of by saying that 15-20 markets by years end and starting in quarter 4.. (during the call and on the picture)

"sort of"?

No, there was no press release or official announcement SPECIFICALLY TO AVOID DELAYS. They said it would be out by the end of the year.

If on January 1st it is not out then you could reasonably say it would need to be announced as delayed.

lol.. here we go again...

i wasnt talking primarily about delays... i have been mentioning if it has indeed to come out today, according to howard forums and to sf and phonescoop, then it is delayed...

they have been saying that they would start to roll it out during the 4th quarter of this year... (not sure if you pay attention the the call, but i do)

I'm just mad that phonescoop and other websites actually listed this information as if it was direct from the source and have yet to announce whether the information was valid or not. Rich Brome if your reading this please response and let us know what happened. Doesn't this website get valid info from the companies or do they forum hop just like us?

not quite sure, but i also posted another document that said that they would be starting the roll out with 15-20 markets in the 4th quarter of 2005 with majority of the markets in 2006.

october, november, december= 4th quarter.

we shall see. 🙂

That is the accurate concern, reporting errors.

Phonescoop could report that Verizon will launch 4G on January 1st 2006 but if it doesn't happen that doesn't mean there is a delay and using such words is twisting the truth.

Stating the report was wrong is what should be said, not that if it doesn't happen it is "delayed". That is just irresponsible grand standing.

"Phonescoop could report that Verizon will launch 4G on January 1st 2006"

why are we talking about verizon here? this has to deal with cingular, not verizon.

--------

either way, it was delayed......

(by the way 1 am? come on TX!!! )

I guess people are so unintelligent or their views are so clouded they are unable to see the point. Irresponsible journalism is as bad as someone who claims to be just posting the truth.

For someone not in the know the word delay looks to be a negative. Rather than post someting responsible like "looks like they got the date wrong" the blame is placed on Cingular. My example was just that, an example. Some are too simple minded to understand an analogy and think I am changing the subject.

It is irresponsible no matter the situation whether it be political reporting, industry reporting or just some fool who is too arrogant to post on facts.

As always Nextel18, you think this is about me and you. I know I will never convince you ...

awww. poor TX at it again...

anyway, i never posted that cingular will come out on november 1st with their 3g.. i was just simply relaying the information to you that SF provided to me...

your blowing this out of proporation, but that is your forte especially when you post 24/7, but that is understandable...

i feel your pain lol..

i post BS? hahahahha. you are one funny person. i never post BS, sorry.

i always post facts, and what people relay to me...

offer something new? lol.. all you do is contiously repeat things and dont get things... its nothing new.. 🙂

try posting less often like you do.. 🙂

You know nextel18, maybe you need to look in the mirror and your own statements rather than acting like "I am mr. innocent just trying to debate".

Your statements are intentionally inflamatory. Someone not in the know would read your post about "delaying" the launch and think in a negative manner abou the situation.

What point or purpose did you have in stating they would announce a delay? If you truly are as smart as you say you know a delay in this business is a usually a negative situation.

here we go again.... lol...

TX is getting frustrated hahahaha...

i was just pointing out for the last time, lol dont get so paranoid, that SF, PS and hofo, has mentoiend that it will come out november 1st of 2005. well, nov 1 has arrived and still no 3g, and i am saying that if at the end of busines day which is about 5 pm that 3g isnt here, it would be delayed.. (according to hofo, phonscoop and SF)

you have go to chill out lol... hahahha

1. phonescoop, hofo and SF said that it will come out in november 1st 2005
2. it is november 1st 2005
3. if it doesnt come out within a few hours that means it will be delayed..

But Cingular didn't say it would be out November 1st.

yea, you are one confused person...

i never said they are coming out on november 1st... i was saying that phonescoop's article thanks to SF who provided it to me, and hofo whose source phonescoop is using mentioned that it is coming out on november 1st.

i wasnt using my sources on this situation, i was using what SF gave me and i am relaying to you....

perhaps instead of you posting 24/7 that you should try to understand what we are discussing.. perhaps an outline will be helpful to you....

1. SF mentiones to me about an article regarding cingular and their 3g roll out on november 1st.
a. he provided an article on phonescoop.
b. the source phonescoop was using was on hofo.
2. then i mentioned that if those reports are...
