6230 - Nokia repair ??
I have an ENS nokia 6230 with 5.34 OS - I am going to have Nokia repair it (upgrade the OS)
The latest ver. is 5.5 (super-ceded by 5.4)
Nokia told me this upgrade fixes all the problems with the errors - Can any one verify this?
This repair is my only option since Cingular dumped the phone and on its Customers.
I have experienced the lock up issue - scrolling issue - and bad reception/static/dropped calls.
I really want the call issues resolved.
BTW - after I turned on Automatic Keygaurd (activate in 1:00 minute) I had never had the lockup or scrolling issue again - but I can not live with the static and reception any longer.
Any input would be appreciated.

You should call 1800-801-1101 at the end of this week they should have the nokia 6682.

To find the serial number of your phone please try one of the following:
Input *#06# on your phone. (Some phones will display the serial number when this code is entered.)

To get the firmware details on the 6682, you'd enter *#0000# - that might work, or it may be a different code for your phone.

i love the 6682 and I would have been without a phone waiting for the 6230 to get repaired. I also do not buy that nokia really nows why the phone does not work. And if it was just a simple software update Cingular would still carry the phone.

that must be nice.. i am having problems with my 6230 i called in to Warranty and only offered me the S66 or V551... and then i caleld insurance.. same thing.. then i called customer service.. 6682 not offered in Houston area....
so i am stuck with my 6230 crackling and scratchy on every call i make and they all told me i was up the creek without a paddle..

Demand something that is either Nokia, or at least has Bluetooth, MP3, AND a memory card slot, AND has EDGE. That is the main feature set of the 6230 and that severely limits their choices. And they can't say the s710a is not available because mine shipped out of Texas.
