Voice mail, while Roaming in Canada
IF MY DISABLING VOICE MAIL WILL THAT BE A GOOD WAY AROUND IT,
or if anyone has another idea of what I could do
(here is my dilema, I am willing to pay roaming charges for important calls that I choose to answer, but for the ones that I ingore and go to voice mail, I dont think it would be fair for me to get charged roaming for that....)

I need to know if you get charged roaming for someone leaving a voice mail while you're in Canada (my friend did)
Good news!
You would only be charged roaming for the call if you picked up. Calls that go to voice mail are NOT roaming.

my friend ot charged a few months ago, and on the website it does say that while on international roaming (canada) you get charged roaming for voice mail deposits.
my question is, did this just change?
or is there a way around it?

now if I disable my voice mail will I get charged?? how about if the voice mail picks up after 10 sec.???
I want to use my phone in canada, BUT only take important calls, (and not get charged for the rest...)
If it rings for more than 30 seconds, it counts as a call. Disabling voice mail would actually INCREASE the chance of you getting billed for it.
The ring-to-voicemail time can be set to whatever you want. With 10 seconds, there is no chance you'd be charged, but a great chance you wouldn't get to see who was calling and choose to answer before voicemail had it anyway.
You might want to try 20 seconds, or even 25. The default setting is designed to give you maximum time to answer...

No, we don't. If we needed it, we would have it.
Rather, you would like us to have it as an add-on, and it would be very convenient for your needs.
I understand that. I even sympathize. But I have no power to change the current system. What's more, after careful (and frustrating) perusal of the website, I was unable to find you any more direct method of passing on your complaint/suggestion than to call Customer Care.
...And I'm hoping Marcus has a better answer. For myself, I'd like to let someone know that the website, while insisting on knowing my zip code for almost any transaction, also insists that Cingular does not provide coverate in that are...
