Good Cingular CS experience

I have for a long time seen the posts bashing Cingular CS on this site and now I had to actually use it. I had some software issues with my phone and it was still under warranty so I called the warranty line. I had all my info including IMEI # and such ready and after a short (5min.) wait, they were helpful and are now mailing me a replacement. Easy. New phone and I don't have to pay for shipping or am I inconvenienced by having to send my phone to them first. Good job!
My guess most people who complain don't have all the info they need ready or don't understand how to convey their problem well to the staff, but what do I know.

That's not true for everyone. I always have the info I need ready when I call Customer Service, it's just that some of the reps are clueless. Take yesterday for example, I called because they screwed up my caller id blocking service, when I called the guy he had no idea what he was doing and i was on hold 3/4 of the call, finally when he had a plan he hung up on me. I called back I told the rep what happened she fixed it in two minutes! Then I talked to her manager to tell them about how I am always hung up on when I call service, and yes I am nice, at first at least 😁 .

Customers often assume they've been hung up, but calls drop all the time. I've had calls drop where I called the customer right back, they had assumed I hung up on them. Our supervisors can track every button we press on a phone, if we intentionally hang up on someone, it's grounds for termination. I sincerely hope the representative you spoke to initially was very new and the call dropping was not intentional.

Wolfspider is right. Plus, up until VERY recently some centers were not permitted to call someone back after a certain time in the customer's local time zone, to keep from disturbing people at early or late hours in the same residence.
