GSM 1900/850 in Chicago with Sony K750

I am looking at getting the Sony Ericsson K750i but I'm slightly worried about coverage since it is a GSM 900/1800/1900 phone.

Does anyone know how much of Chicago and the sorrounding areas rely solely on 850 with no 1900, is there any move to phase out one band in preference of the other?

I plan to hang onto my Moto V600 (the POS it is) for if I'm traveling and need an 850 but I spend most of my time in Chicago and northwest Illinois.

I'm guessing that Cingular is in no rush to get an 850 band K750, W800, or something equivalent to market, but if someone knows otherwise Id be willing to wait.

The western half of the country has mostly 850. I am pretty sure Cingular has both 850 and 1900 in Chicago.

I've noticed that 850 gives you better reception in the nothshore.

Chicago is mostly 850mhz. Some areas are both 850mhz/1900mhzand those areas will be changing to 850 only soon. 1900mhz in most parts of the country is going to be gone by the time network integration is complete.
