Why are there?...
Looking on ebay, and there are two different 64K Sim Cards, why? And which one is the newest/best? I have a 64K Sim Card, was jsut wondering that the one that I have now is like old or something? (I got my 64K sim card in January 2005)
thanks....

there's the one with the green back and the one with the white back. i thought one was distributed in the telegen market and the other in the whatever the other market is called, just so you know where the phone is based out of.
More importantly, I do not think there is any mechanical difference between the two, except that the color white reflects light better than green, so that if you leave your SIM face up the green one is more prone to melting. This frankly is a stupid side note and just don't even bother with it.

thats funny! i'm pretty sure that the green one were made by gemplus and there were compatability issues with some of the phones, the white one are made by axalto and so far no issues with any handset.

the green card i believe is only 19 digits and the white is 20. ome of cing's markets use the 19 digits ones, i think it's only new york city and the carolinas

My is from Atlanta and its green and has 20 digits

okay.... just shooting a guess out there. it probably makes no difference which one then.

Just to correct everyone.. the difference between the white and green sim cards IS mechnical. It does not even boil to to what brand it is, as Axalto (the problem-free one) and Gemplus BOTH make green AND white sim cards. The white ones will now activate in ANY area of the country. It used to be, if I had a customer from New York (Im in Dallas), and they got a new sim card, it would not program in any market but their home market. Now it will receive programming anywhere on the network. Green sims cannot do this.
:ðēr so this is my understanding::
