Down With the Orange Giant!!

Man, don't you just love buyouts? Nothing but good times when one company ingests another and its employees. As an employee, I'm not stressed about the plans or anything like that. Its when the employee perks are affected do I become worried. As a blue employee, I enjoyed my blue employee phone. Unlimited mins, data, roaming and text messaging is wonderful. The LD was .07/min but so what. They even gave us a phone to start with. All this for free, free I tell you. Well, thats going away. I work in a divested market (NC) therefore, my MSISDN (telephone number) will belong to Triton PCS soon. My coworkers and I now have to change to an orange ERP by July 8th. WTF? 1000 mins vs unlim; 5MB data vs. unlim; 200 text vs. unlim... What in the blue h...

What's so bad about the Orange plan? It's not as good, but is it really that bad? Do you have to pay for it or is it free? If you were in sales it would be a bigger issue since you have to use your personal phone to demonstrate features, however are you required to use your phone in CS? I agree that large companies need unions to protect it's laborers, but I don't think the plan is such a big deal. I'm in sales, and I pay $80 a month without flinching. I'm also not allowed to be under contract, so I purchase my phones at full price.

There is no charge for the base ERP. 1000 mins, 200 txt, 5MB data, LD included, and no roaming. Its better than any consumer or dealer plan, but not the blue plan. I've grown accustomed to the free and unlimited aspect of the blue world. Plus, my usage exceeds 100 mins per month. We can add unlim N&W and MTM, but at retail cost. I'm just used to two phones for the price of one (employee and rival personal)

that truely seems like a nice blue plan but as being an orange legacy employee its better that paying 12.00/mth 120 mins which is what our very first erp used to be. plus you should get at least the 30% discount for being an orange employee now.

I feel sooo bad for you guys, really,I do.
But it could be worse...
You could be one of us Canadians who don't get free or "company phones".We don't get discounts,or special rate plans, and we don't get free phones. We pay the same rate as any other "regular customer".I have to put a 200.00 deposit on any service I get, added line, etc. It sux.

But,if anyone hears otherwise, please let me know....

Is there an individual add on for unlimited N&W? I had to add the unlimited M2M to mine and the unlimited PDA connect. I still think I'm getting a good deal on it though.

The plans are something that Cingy or any other carrier should be able to modify to suit their employees, but I have no problem at all with buying the phones at full price. It still ends up being slightly cheaper than what I would pay from the manufacturer in most cases and I don't think the company should have to lose money to provide me with a phone.

They give ok prices through NEAS and the 30% discount in store is fine as well. Its even better when you take 30% off of a BT headset. I think the unlim N&W feature is $4.99 or 9.99, but I may be wrong. I know MTM is $9.99.

Yes, you are correct. You get 30% off phone and accessories. And it's not unlimited nights, it 5k for 9.99. m2m is 9.99 as well.

Well, that kinda sucks. I never use anywhere near 5k off-peak mins, but the allure of "unlimited" is a satisfier. I guess unlimited is one of those comfort terms.

The ERP plan must be a market dependent and everyone has different features. As Ralph reported, we Dallas reps get 1000 daytime, 1000 N&W, unlimited text, 5 mb of WIX, and 200 MMS messages.

Call center employees also get a second line with 500 minutes for $15. They can add the N&W bolt-on for $9.99.

I thought all ANR plans were uniform. That is what I get for not thinking.
