if you already have one or are planning on getting one make sure the phone itself says cingular on it and has the little orange jack (yes he has a name) if not you will not be able to get on the internet for sure and/or possibly not be able to text.

The item I am referring to will be available through Cingular distribution and therefore will be Cingular branded.
Any black RAZR units available now (via Ebay or whatnot) were originally distributed in Europe.

that's what i was saying too. i'm just tired of getting calls tranfered to me (tech) because the sales rep or the csr or the cust didn't know the internet wouldn't work.

Why can't you get the internet to work? I know that we can get mms/web working on a Razr on T-Mobile.

the way it was explained to me is that the other carrier programed that phone to pull off the international internet not the american internet. in other words, don't know why but if you call tech we tell you you're s.o.l.

That is really wierd. I thought that there was only 1 internet. And I haven't run into a razr I couldn't reprogram with T-Mobile settings.

don't know, i just know all the trouble shooting in the world won't make it work. then again it might be cingular because att phones won't work on our internet either.

Thats odd... I gave my unlocked Audiovox 5600 to my sister and MediaNet works just fine on it. I just had to manually change the browser settings and voila

i have been able to fix maybe 1 out of 15 non cingular data issue. maybe. you're lucky. most of the time we (the cust or rep) can't even find where to change the settings.

Yes you will. I had an unbranded/unlocked Black Razr for a couple weeks and I was able to get on the internet and text without a problem. You just have to obtain the settings and manually configure the phone. Its not hard at all.

Even branded phones can be manually programmed to work, we just don't "guarantee" it will work, of all the phones i've done, i'd say 7 out of 10 times it works,, but they will experience issues with it, disconnecting, things like that that they wouldn't with a true cingular phone
