i wouldnt be suprised if that was a big factor in them dropping mobile solutions...another has to be all the billing problems that they made with everyones account and all the credits that had to be given back to the customers. since cingulars big push is the 4th r reputation the only thing that cingular could really do was to get rid of them cause they were giving cingular a black eye.

This is a company that when I started with ATTWS and the first call I had when the person helping us said to ask the customer where they got the phone, and the customer replied "mobile solutions" the rep helping me about cried. It is an indirect dealer that was shady and caused a lot of problems for us as reps.

Were they just ATTWS or do they carry other stuff as well?

I'm assuming that they are one of those dealers who carries everthing and tries to sell you in succession whatever will make them the most commission . . .

I was interested in some specifics, like where they're located, and what sort of things specifically that they did to get on Cingular's bad side.

i am not sure what markets they are located in but they are in uny market. they use to carry at&t and t-mobile, then when cingy purchased at&t they started selling cingy. and you are correct they will sell whatever makes them the most money and by any means possible. they harrass people that walk by their kiosks and their pitch is hey what cell phone carrier do you have...oh they suck come here and buy this phone...no come here. im sure you know the types and if you want more stories let me know cause i got a ton of them to share

well seems that these guys like to do what we have dubed "fake" family talks...this is when you put 2 or 3 or 4 lines each on its own plan but making each one look as if it is on a family plan so that when you look at it fast you cant tell whats wrong with the plan. this in turn generates a $36 act fee per line and also generates a $39.99 or $49.99..etc. per line fee instead of the regular family plan thus making the custs bill extreemly large. when the customer comes back to their store they then say well there is nothing we can do for you but we can sign you up on a tmobile phone. if you want help with your billing problem go see the cingular stores in the mall they will help you figure out what the problem is.

One of the sales reps for our company used to work for Cingular cust care - and he told me about that! I guess there are probably a lot of dealers who do that . . .

That would be very hard for any customer to tell at the time of activation. That's why I always show my customers on the paperwork for each line what the charge is for each additional line (whether for Cingular or T-Mobile).

I'd don't think many customers would notice things like that unless it was pointed out to them.

You said stories . . . that was only one! Any other sleazy dealer tricks I should know about?

One Mobile Pollutions dealer was trying to sign up one of my customers. He filled out the customers info on the top of the contract (but not price plan or vertical features or anything related to his service) and said "OK, well just sign this and I'll fill it out later, I'm sure you're busy and have other things to do."

😳 😳 😳

the same dealer also...
-put in their manager's home address as a billing address for people who lived outside the area and wouldn't get service there anyhow, and then changed the address
-adds on vertical features without informing customer to get their commission on them
-lied about free activation
-lies about EVERY other carrier (i.e. 'they make you resign a 2 year contract when you change your plan...

these issues created churn...like i have said cingular is all about reputation. these issues make cingular have a bad reputation. granted they dont want churn but they also dont want their customers saying to all of their friends, family members,co-workers, that they had a bad experience with cingular becuae of the agent that they went to messed up their bill and would not help them with a phone problem or even exchange the phone cause it was a bad phone within the 15 or 30 day return policy. it all starts out with the problems that mobile solutions created on the customers accounts just so they can make more money off of the customer.

In one weeks I did 20 valid complaints on mobile solutions. There was complaints about lies about waived activation and free months of servvice. I had a store manger hang up on me as soon as I said I was calling from cingular customer service. My experience with mobile solutions was not good at all my impression was even worse. I think they will say anything to sign up a customer and then they also give the customer a hassle when they try to cancel.
