Unlock codes are IMEI dependent. Meaning each phone has its own ind. unlock code.

So no one would be able to answer that one. Send them to me, and I will unlock them!!

My cingular branded v180 was unlocked when I got it. Me and my wife switched from t-mobile and I stuck my t-mo sim in my v180 and it worked! Also tried my wifes v220 and that worked as well. Try putting the foreign sim in before seeking an unlock solution. you may not have to.

This same question pops up periodically on these forums and the answer is always the same. Here's the short version:

Each individual handset has a unique unlock code matched to its unique IMEI. There is NOT a generic unlock code for all of the same model of a phone.

However, certain manufacturers include a feature to disable any subsidy software that would otherwise restrain you from using a different carrier's SIM than was originally intended. Once again though, the code used is unique for each handset and matched to the IMEI.

Hi there *smile*

My husband and I just got those two phones and according to the user manuals that came with them, the numbers should be either "1234" or the last four digits of the phone number assigned to the phones. The "1234" is what worked on my phone (V180 GSM) and we haven't done my husband's phone (x427m) yet because he's not here right now.

I hope that helps *smile*

Yep, I sure do. I beats gettin' frowny lines by a country mile 😁

I couldn't get the little smilies to work yesterday, but that's okay 'cuz I couldn't get the dancing bananas to work on another message board, either 😕

I think yesterday was just an all-around iffy day 🙂

I wonder if my response about the codes was helpful?
