COVERAGE IN MORRISTOWN NJ
Thanks

Just wondering if anyone could give me input on how Cingular coverage is in the Morristown NJ area. The map that Cingualr has looks like there is a no service area near it, but I would like to see what experience people who have been there or live there can tell me.
Thanks
Gee, on my brochures it looks pretty covered.
Pulling it up on the web-based 'real' coverage map, it looks decent, with a couple of open spots to the south. Tons of towers on 287, with half a dozen more scattered through the area.
(Coming from New England, where we apparently pack customers less tightly, that's an almost frightening tower density.)
There's a store on Millbrook Ave (along with two towers) where yo...

how about 140 Sussex ave
Signal is "low", but consistent. Two nearby holes, one along the start of Alexandria (looks about a quarter mile) and the other around Rambling Woods (including the nearby section of Sussex). Signal gets rapidly stronger to the east and south, with the "strong" border about the time Sussex crosses Mills.
Would recommend phone with external antenna, may not work in basement or some spots in house. Be aware of 15-day return policy.

Phones with external antennas are less likely to have the user's hand over the antenna.
The phones that customers have reported back to me with good signal have been external-antenna.
The phones that customers have reported back to me with bad signal have been internal-antenna.
Most phones get no special reports back to me at all. (Except the C331, but that's another story.)
seconed, would I be able to Roam on the AT&T GSM tower in morristown, and how soon (or if ever) will the AT&T towers in Morristown become cingular

First of all, I was looking into the nokia 6200 (since it has one of best receptions of any phone)or maybe the v400 (how is that with reception?)
Haven't heard back from any V400's.
I like the 6200 myself -- it's a good phone. (Opinion only, no hard evidence)

Possibly. Depends on our roaming agreements, of which I know little. Check with your local experts to be sure.
As far as merger stuff goes, it will be the end of the year or so before any changes. We still need ATTWS shareholder approval...

if you dont mind, I would appreciate it if you could check for me one more address,
40 Balfour Place Brooklyn NY 11225
Looks pretty darn good. Solid wash of midrange, getting higher to the south.
Tower at the other end of Balfour (corner of Empire) and another on Nostrand between Maple and Midwood.
Also a lovely Cingualr store at Kingston and Empire, where you can check reception on actual Cingular phones in the area.

this road is the driveway up to the college at 226 Sussex ave, where there are over 700 students (the pond you mentioned is on campus) and must people have AT&T GSM or Verizon, (which have towers on campus) and not cingular b/c of lack of service..
are there any plans to add towers in Morristown, and could you put in a request to add a tower there (which should take away all the dead area's you mentioned)

Alas, I know only of towers in the New England area, and most times ony once they are up. (The network people send out email postcards of each new tower once it is in service.)
Your local Cingular dealer would have much better local info than I do.
