Across the street from one of my locations is a Verizon COR store. I have been blessed with a mass defection from Verizon. Thanks wireless number portability!

My staff and I always survey these Verizon customers to why they are leaving. Most of the time it is due to service issues in regard to the Alltel aquisition taking place. 30 percent of it was for the iphone.

I always wondered why people would leave a carrier happy just for a phone and pay $xxx's in early term fees for that carrier.

I wonder if this is going to go the other way for att? The service is strong for my area with att. I can't fathom someone with att leaving for Verizon for a CDMA variant that can't do simantaneous voice and data.

Will depend on the area. Where I am AT&T has poor coverage and Verizon has nearly 70% of the market locked up. Verizon was also 2nd in consumer reports, AT&T 5th. Honestly, I don't think Verizon needed the iphone, they were doing great without it.

Big cities? Eastern states and California? Maybe not as much. Middle of the country, probably a fair amount.
