Phone choices

Why can't ATT have a pretty decent phone like the Samsung Alias like Verizon. I like the flip phone and then the full key board. The phones ATT currently have don't thrill me at all. Do they have anything new coming up?

ATT had a phone similar to the Alias back in the fall of 2005 called the SGH-D307. It was short-lived and a lot of people had problems with the dual hinged door. Admittedly there are no flip phones with a full QWERTY keyboard in the ATT lineup presently, only sliders. However these things are cyclical and flip phones may come back in style again. The model life ofKorean phone manufacturers (LG and Samsung especially) is usually pretty short. Samsung turns over thier lineup 2 or 3 times a year, so you just may want to keep an eye out on the ATT web site to see what may be arriving before Christmas.

Just to name some phones over the time:
Samsung Blackjack
BlackBerry Curve
iPhone
Samsung Captivate
BlackBerry Torch
HTC Pure

And I can keep going...

thanks for the reply. I do not want or need a blackberry or Iphone. I really don't care for the touchscreen. I just really like a flip phone and the alias had the best of both worlds. A flip and a keyboard. I hate the bar style phones that ATT seems to be concentrating on. Like I said the balckberry and iphone are things that i don't need or want.

It's what I'm holding out hope for.

Either it won't suck... or it'll suck but be root-able/customizable.
