Having a hard time accessing MediaNet

Got my S710 working pretty well so far, but having one hell of a time connecting to MediaNet. Finally came across this site at cingular:

http://supportcingular.atgnow.com/cng/tutorials/KB43 ... »

Followed those instructions, and had a fully working MediaNet connection all day at work. Then I get home tonight, and cant connect again. I press the browser button on the phone (or select media net icon in upper left) and I get the small globe icon, and "Connecting" then "Loading" and thats where it stops. I've let it set there for 10 minutes. I do have the GPRS available icon, and about 3-4 signal strength bars, at work it was 100%. Anyone have ideas/suggestions?

So far, the whole medianet thing has seemed fairly flaky compared...

You shouldn't be having any problems accessing the net. Cingular has a very stable internet service. I would suggest that the settings are off, but I did see where you got all the settings on the website. Considering you have all the settings correct, you may actually have a defective phone. Call the store where you bought the s710a and see what they say; or just call customer support.

I actually have the same problem every once in a while with my s710a too. Turn your phone off and on and see what happens. I usually do that and it works well. A rep told me that you should do that once a day so it receives all updates and stuff. Its like rebooting a computer every once in a while to clear the cache. But yeah medianet is kinda flaky. I havent been too impressed.

You sound like you may have talked to my co-worker. Those are the exact words he tells customers when he is telling them to power cycle the phone.

Well today I was able to get to medianet on a limited basis. for example, I could select the main MediaNet link in bookmarks, and go into some of the other bookmark links like sport, news, etc, but if I try to go too deep into the site, it seems to stop working..

Checked my connection status, and it was EDGE, and profile was Roam. Changed to Home profile, and it said 'may not be best for your area' or something like that, but acted the same. Did a reset on the phone (the first stage reset) and rebooted, and cleared cache, and still no better.

On the link I posted earlier, it gave an IP address, but when I got the phone, and after reset, it gave a FQDN. Phone is recharging now, going to do more testing soon.

He has only been Customer service. But I think we all use something similar to it.
