Found the 6230 there for 49.99 after instant rebate. I would much rather purchase the phone from a store or one of the sales reps here but it seems no one has it in stock anymore. How reliable is LetsTalk.com ?

Sorry to be the one to tell you but that is with activation of new service. If you are upgrading it you pay full price as the rebate is activation of new service rebate.

Also the phone was discontinued, so ou are buying a phone that is possibly out of warranty, as the warranty is good from 1 year from when the phone was made, not when bought through dealer.so you could possibly buy a phone with no warranty.

Remember, you buy from a indirect source, you have NO RIGHT to call your provi...

I thought the warranty was 1 year from purchase date by a customer.... so you're saying if someone buys a phone thats already 3 months old (from being on a shelf), they only have 9 months left on the warranty?

Anytime that I have helped a customer do a warranty exchange they have gone by the date it was sold. He is not correct on that.

Nokia's warranty:

15 months from manufacture date printed on the back of the handset -or-

12 months from the purchase date.

Nokia does have the right to require you to show a receipt from an "authorized nokia dealer" but anyone who buys the handset through a legitimate source is considered authorized (carrier or distributor).

In all likelyhood you have a warranty, but you are still buying a handset that is discontinued.

I agree adams, it doesnt make sense for a warranty to start the day it was made, cuz there might be a long time before that phone is sold for various reasons.

SOME computer manfactures do this crap. ATT/Cing does it by the date of purchase. Also Icyhot, a thing to keep in mind. If for some reason you cancel service say 6 months into it....you have 2 ETF's, 1 from Letstalk.com (indirect dealer) and a ETF from Cingular. Gotta be very carefully.
